Question about ATI RADEON HD 2400 PRO Graphic Card
I have two different laptops both with ATI Mobility display adapters : RADEON and RAGE respectively. I would like to send Video out from the VGA connector to an auxiliary external monitor. I have tried various things starting from Control panel, Displays, Options, Multiple Screens. The external monitor does not seem to be receiving the video signals. I know this usually works with other types of display, so I must be missing something...
Can anyone help?
If your laptop doesn't automatically detect the external monitor, there will be a function key you need to press to activate the external monitor connector. It's often on the top row of keys, but different manufacturers put their function keys wherever they like. The key will normally have a marking that looks like a little monitor screen. Connect your external monitor, hold down the F or Fn key and press the monitor key when you find it. Usually the first press will turn on the external monitor and turn off the laptop screen, then the second press turns the laptop screen back on. Some brands or models may not turn off the laptop display, though.

Tips for a great answer:
If you are having problems with your video card
the drivers might not be installed correctly you might
have to uninstall the graphics card restart your computer then reinstall the
graphics card and its drivers
If your computer
came with a motherboard disc the drivers could be on it
Click start control
panel administrive tools computer management device manager scroll to display
adapters + to expand you might see a yellow question mark ? or exclamation mark

you might need to
This package supports the following driver models:
