Question about Garmin nuvi 750 GPS Receiver

I lost the voice feature and mute is not checked

I was in the process of reviewing a trip and lost the voice. I still have sound on the touch screen feature but no voice when a turn is indicated.

Nuvi 2555mt lost voice


First, do you hear beeps when you press a selection on the screen? If yes, then your speaker is OK and the audio circuits are OK in the unit. Make sure that you have a voice selected in the voice menu. Some units have an audio mixer screen and provide different volume settings for navigation (voice) and system (beeps). maybe the volume for the voice (navigation) is set to off. If you don't hear any beeps when you touch the screen AND you don't hear a voice, make sure that the sound isn't set to be muted. If the sound isn't muted, you may have a defective speaker. I'm not getting verbal directions from my Garmin nuvi 260W. How can I fix this problem. A day ago it was working properly.

I do not have any voice but do have picture. Volume is turned up.

  3. Ensure the Mute box is not 'checked'

We just purchased a Garmin 1390. On our first trip, everything was fine and all at one the verbal instructions quit working.


First check that the volume has not been muted or the volume fully down. Touch the volume icon and see that the mute box is not ticked or the volume fully down. Touching the mute box will untick it.

The most likely problem is that either the voice has become unselected or the voice file is corrupted.

Press Tools, then Settings, then Language. The voice being used should be displayed. Touch Voice and select another which may solve the problem.

If this does not solve the problem the voice file is probably corrupted. To solve this it needs to be downloaded again. Connect your satnav to your computer and download webupdater from http://www8.garmin.com/support/collection.jsp?product=999-99999-27 When it's installed you'll get an option to update your software. After this you'll have an option to download voices. Tick the ones you want and click next. When the voices have been downloaded and you have disconnected the satnav from the computer you'll need to go back and select the voice you want from Tools, Settings, Language as described above.

My voice cannot be heard by other party on line


check on the on-screen display that you have not activated the "Mute" feature on those handsets.. if you have then you should be able to deactivate via the in screen menu
