Question about Philips Televison & Video

Cannot get my DVD/VCR to function.

After making my connections nothing happens. The power comes on but I cannot perform any of the setup options such as: set the clock or do a simple recording of a program. However, I also have a Motorola Cable Box but, I've followed instructions but, still nothing happens. How do I fix this problem?

I have a panasonic pv 9451- is there a way to reset the auto programming for the channels? can i reset the vcr programmed information entirelyu and start anew?i think i programmed out channel 3 which is...

Should be able to use the remote to access the VCR menu, and setup the auto programming. If not automatically, then you'll have to do each channel manually. Just check all your options in the menu.

Usually all vcr's have the option of channel 3 or 4.

How to record on vcr/dvd combo I set the timer program to record on the vcr but nothing happen, I can record by hitting the record button, but unable to get the timer to work. I received the vcr/dvd combo...

First make sure the internal clock is setup correctly observing am/pm. Then try recording something so you can watch the operation to see if it works. Make sure you have a tape you can record on and also make sure the write protect tab has not been removed from the front lower corner of the tape. Good Luck! I hope you now have success!

Connecting a freeview box

Your dvd player should be connected to the TV INPUT under norma conditionsl. What kind of recorder are you using? VCR player ?, Is it also a VCR recorder ( one cannot assume because I happened to own a VHS\vcr PLAYER, not player & recorder)Is Your VCR recorder? Then It must be connected to freeview box with universal scart to RCA converter box.You have "" dvd player in av2, vcr av1"" where? TV? freeview box scart connector ?
You will need scart to RCA converter box for sure.

VCR

Hi dennis176,

Unfortunately, I am not aware of this kind of setup. This kind of solution would not be very efficient. For this to work there would need to be an insert to the VCR (similar to that which is used in a cassette player to convert CD audio) attached to a DVD player. Because you would require a device to play the DVD and send the video/audio to the insert (if it existed) it would actually be more efficient to simply connect the DVD player to the television. The reason inserts exist for cassette players is primarily that it prevents replacement of an entire car stereo system. This is not the case with a VCR. You may consider purchasing a DVD/VCR combo if you wish to maintain the ability to play VHS tapes. If you own a TV/VCR combo, your least expensive option would likely be to purchase a separate DVD player.

Thank you,
Jason,

Cancelling program

That function is probably found in setup & programming. There should be an option allowing you to delete it. Your operators manual should help- if you don't have it, then check the manufacturer's website.

I know this is simplistic...

Power light is on, but nothing happens.

Two questions, Are you able to load a cassette?, and are you able to watch TV through your VCR? These two questions are vital to further analysis. if the answer to both is no then you will have to take the VCR to a TV repair shop because it will require internal repairs that you may not have the equipment to perform. Please get back to me with the answers to these two questions Thank you,
