Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,

If it is a new washer (you didn't say) it is likely to be working correctly.
If it is NOT a new machine it is possible that the heater is taking longer than it should to heat the water to the correct temperature. This could be that the element is coated in calcium. I suggest you run the contents of a couple of sachets of proprietary limescale removing powder/fluid through it. The most efficient way is to put the contents in an empty washer and pour a kettle of hot water into the drum then leave overnight. In the morning run just a spin; the water mix will then go through the drain filter and drain motor impeller blades, doing absolutely NO harm whatsoever, in fact some good!
You could also consider repeating the action ;-0)

If this has assisted you please consider a 4 thumbs up for the rating.
Thanks and good luck!

Only takes on cold water will not take on hot when you disconnect pipe hot water runs through so supply is ok

If it is a hot and cold fill washer with 2 seperate inlet hoses, and no hot is entering, then either the hot inlet valve is faulty, or the valve is not getting an electric feed to it.
Make sure that the programme you select is ahot prog, as many of the programmes are3 cold fill only.

I have a whirpool washing machichine the creaion model. I was wondering if needs a hot water supply or is it ok to use a y shaped hose.

If you have a hot water supply then use it otherwise use a Y hose to connect the cold supply to both hot and cold inlets. Machines are generally made with cold only inlets today as most washing detergents are formulated for cooler washing temperatures and the mfrs say that it is more convenient and cheaper to heat what is required rather than draining your domestic hot water tank. There will not be a problem with using cold fill to both inlets but you can expect some of the hotter was programmes to take longer than expected as the water will have to be heated in the machine to allow the programme to run correctly.

it sounds like the hot water supply hose on the back inlet water valve is not opening up,to check it switch the hoses, cold on hot,and hot on cold, put the washer on fill cold,if hot water comes out you know it's the water valve-mike

Is it OK to run a washer without water

All you can test without water, is the spin and pump functions..
The heater and the wash action will not work without the correct amount of water in the washer.
Hope this helps.

have you tried adjusting the feet on the front of the washer so it is tilted back slightly .This will stop the water from coming over the little lip on the front of the machine. Some dishwashers also use a little amount of water in the bottom when drying asthis helps to curculate the heat ; leave the washer to complete it's cycle and it should beep to let you know when it is finished
