LCD Monitor screen distorted on left side of screen

While i may be a resolution issue as suggested by the three previous posters... your monitor may be defective.

without knowing the following it is all a bit of guesswork.. model of monitor, video card, operating system version... etc...

generally, if its a resolution or aspect ratio issue, the screen will look wrong across the whole screen... to me it sounds like a monitor fault, rather than a aspect ratio issue or resolution issue.

I'd try it in another system/laptop. if it works fine there, then it probably is an issue with the graphics card, or the driver for it, in the original system.
if it looks wrong in more than 1 system, i'd have a look, using the buttons on the monitor itself, and try to reset the monitor to factory defaults, and the see if it has an auto adjustment feature, and if so, use that, and see if that improves things....

If it looks the same on two systems, and you have set the screen to factory defaults, and played with the on screen display settings via the buttons on the monitor itself, ie auto adjust, etc.. then I'd guess you have a faulty monitor...

it'd help if you could post a pic of the the issue to tell more easily.

hope this info helps.

Hp w1907 keeps auto adjusting every 5 - 20 seconds

happened once to me, (I have this exact monitor), heres what i did that fixed it:

Unplug all cables from monitor, leave it unplugged for a few mins.

Replug cables in starting with first the power then let it come up,
then plug in the VGA cables, and see if that fixes it. If not use the buttons on the front to switch input channels and maybe you can get it that way.

Distorted display/aspect HP w1907

This is a common problem with wide screen format.
The way I overcome this distortion is to open a drawing program and draw a circle, some programs require you to hold down the shift key to produce a perfect circle.
I then go to the Display Settings and adjust the screen resolution to get the best display that fills the screen and that gives me the perfect circle.
If this does not work you may need to download the latest video driver for your graphics card and then adjust the screen resolution..

Auto adjustment in progress popping up and

Right click on your desktop, go to properties, and navigate to the settings tab. There, try to set the monitors resolution to the largest available. That should fix your problem. If it doesn't just try some other resolutions until ou find one that works. I hope this helps, Yannick.

My hp w1907 monitor is constantly auto adjusting every 1 or 2 seconds. Make it stop.

Good morning! Auto adjustment occurs when resolution or refresh rate of the display changes. Check your display setings in OS. Set them properly according to product operations manual. Update your display adapters driver. Also check your VGA card or motherboard display port & try using a different cable. try pluging the monitor to a different computer or plug in a different monitor with your motherboard or VGA cards display port. best regards
