I have I Tunes already installed in my laptop. I have an old ipod that works just fine. But now when I tried to use my new I touch it automatically comes up as a camera and gives me between to softwares to open with.

    Thank you again

i have the same problem. i just ignore this message, instruct the system to do nothing. this makes it go directly to I Tunes where no-one thinks my touch is a camera and the music just flows in.

The prompt you are seeing is because of the devices plug n' play capabilities. Have you installed any software onto the computer that came with the i touch? You can choose to ignore the messages when the screen comes up.

If you open your Itunes program then connect your iPod, the Itunes program will wait for any other requests before accessing the device. You can ignore the request as user staam posted, and the ipod will be read from Itunes. If for some reason your device is not asking you for the option of how to open it and not being read from Itunes at all then you will have to reset how it automatically opens the device. You can do this by changing the autoplay settings in the control panel.
Open control panel, select classic view and find the default programs setting. Once there select change auto play settings, and scroll down to the bottom.
You can than change how your attached device acts when plugged in. Or you can set everything as default and that way you will be asked how to open it next time.

If you change your operating system to Win Xp, you will loose your camera, dvd burner and possibly your ethernet controllers to get on the internet. Win Xp does not support them. Are you sure you want to do it anyway? If so, all you have to do is put the Win Xp disk inside the cd/dvd player on the pc and restart it. You will see "press any key to boot from cd". Press a key to follow the prompts and keep hitting the continue or next prompt until finished.

Won't turn on

If your Dell Computer is running Windows Vista, it will not work with the Philips HDD series Go Gear.

If it is running Windows XP:
Disconnect the Go Gear from computer. Press the reset pinhole until the player turns off. Hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard. If this pop-up does not appear, reset the player again WHILE connected to the computer. Open the Philips Device Manager, and go to Repair Tab. Reset the player one more time while connected to computer. Follow the repair instructions.

After repair is complete, upgrade the firmware for this player. Will erase all the songs, but you should be good to go again.

If these methods fail, call Philips to see if you are still in-warranty.
