Question about Epson Stylus Photo RX680 Printer
It was working fine and I ran out of magenta. I replaced with new cartridge and also replaced lt. magenta and cyan. It shows that they are full of ink but will not print any of those three colors. I have cleaned the print heads at least 6 times. I have shut it off, unplugged it and turned it back on and still no color but black and yellow. But when I print the head cleaning test it shows the first three colors and the last three are blank! I am ready to heave it through the window!!
Usually the problem occurs when the ink is running low and a big print job is being done. by then, the printer runs out of ink and starts sucking air into the tubes. If several cleanings dont help, try leaving it off for a couple days, turn it back on, try another cleaning and see what happens. if it still does not work, most likely the printhead will need to be cleaned which will cost about $40 - $65 if cartridges are need too.
If you are you using generic ink, that can cause the problem too.
