KV36XBR400 fragmented picture horizontal overlapping lines

Have a KV-36XBR400 since 2001. works great until recently. Picture is clear on start up, then after first minute, picture is fragmented into multiple horizontal lines overlapping in center of screen.
like horizontal/vertical hold is not right.

If left on, about 30-45 minutes it clears itself up, or a little vibration (swift bang to top of set) seems to clear it up temporarily.

Once picture is clear, it mostly stays that way until turned off. Some days it works, others it doesn't

This will continue to degrade, almost any failure that can be affected or temporarily cleared up by hitting the set is caused by bad solder joints.

A good shop should be able to find and fix the bad solder connections for probably a little under $100
if you bring it to them and pick it up.

Sony KV-32S45 turns on at first, than blinks out, still sound

I would look for intermitent solder connections on the small horizonal driver transformer as well as other HV Componets.(HV Transformer etc.) Also solder up the Vetical output IC. These have been common causes of failures. I would not use the set until these have been checked and soldered. If you don't, a massive failure of the hoizonal circuit and powersupply will occur.
Hope this helps,

Green lines

Due to vertical section failure horizontal line apprears. You did not mention about picture. Green horizontal line means with picture or without picture. With picture means there is some leakage. Without picture only singe horizontal line means vertical section totally not working. Particularly green horizontal line means maybe leads to jungle ic failure. Please mention your simptom clearly what you get and what you will not get both video and audio. It will be helpful to answer. Based on your question this is my small information.

Color lines/no picture

Well, if you still had a good picture before it happened, I would repair it.

This problem is usually a small part in the horizontal circuits. The service charges may be high, but the parts cost should be low.

This is a large heavy set, If you take it yourself to a shop you will save on the service call.
