Question about SanDisk Sansa e270 MP3 Player

1 Answer

Broken cover I have my sansa e 270 for about one and a half year. By now I cracked my displaycover for several times until a part fell out. I don't want to destroy my display therefor I was looking for new cover. I don't mean this case to put the player in but the real cover that protects the display and the inner electronic. It would be great if anybody can tell me a place or a website where I could pay a new one. thanks, David

The simple solution is to use windows media player to add and remove songs to this device. Media player is setup to convert the songs if need be so that this device can play them.

My sansa e250 mp3 player just fell down, after that, when i restarted it it is just showing the blue light but not showing the display on the screen. Any help would be appreciated.

Drop it again from a similar height

OK this is going to be hard to believe....the exact thing happened to mine. It dropped about half a meter onto a concrete floor and showed up with a blue screen and wouldnt shut off.
I unscrewed the back panel and unplugged the battery hoping that it would reset. After several restarts and unplugged batteries it was still unresponsive with the blue screen of death. So like any good tech i tried to reproduce the sequence causing the failure. I dropped it onto my work bench and plugged the battery back in. Worked perfectly after that and has continued to work perfectly since (nearly a year later).
I made sure i covered it with one of those cheap silicone covers after to hopefully absorb some shock after i got it working again. After a year of brutal treatment on military exercises this is the one and only problem i've ever had with my sansa.
Good Luck

Broken screen

Hey maddie13,

You should be able to have your iPod repaired under the factory warranty through your local Apple store, but please keep in mind that coverage for accidental and cosmetic damages may not be included. Typically problems such as cracked LCD screens, liquid spills and internal corrosion/oxidation may be viewed as accidental damage, but a final determination should always be made by a factory-authorized repair technician.

Hope this helps you out.

Sincerely,
Aaron

Do not finish the boot

well i only know so little about the mp3 player but having experiences with laptops,PS3s, psp's, etc. what your going to have to do is first make sure have everything you have on the player in to your PC then we can start with the basics

First your going to have to reimage it like wipe out the memory erase everything that is in the folders of the player except all the installed ware and everything that keeps it working your smart enough to think you'll know what to do

Broken screen

When it comes to issues such as cracked screens, the question comes down to two things:

1. Is the screen cracked in such a way so as to cause big issues, or so the screen cannot function at all.

2. Is my product still under warranty.

Most companies nowadays tend to ship you a new product, if yours is still under any kind of warranty. If your MP3 player isn't, It may be better to get a new one.

Hope this helps.

My best,
Rob

Rotate Video 90 degrees

use VirtualDub... open your video, in the menu Video... Filters... click on Add, select the filter : rotate2, on the Rotation Angle, write : 270, you can test the angle with the preview button. You can alors enter : -90 instead of 270. Check the 'Expand frame to fit'. You can preview all the option, before converting the videos. Click ok...ok until you have the main windows.... Make sure you selected : Full Processing mode in the menu Video.

Sansa e250 cracked screen

I've tried to get a replacement LCD for my SANSA, impossible so far.

There are some PARTS/REPAIR SANSA's on ebay, but must of them with the same problem. There was also a working LCD, I just fail on bidding.

If you can get a working LCD, the replacement is possible with a blower, directing heat to the specifyc connectors area, you can remove the broken one while the glue (some kind of silicon) is warm and flexible, you have to be careful when putting the new one, pins must be aligned, also you should do that whith both (broken and wkring) at the same time, so then you can use the glue still on the pins (golden connectors) area.

I got to remove the broken one and noticed (with my fingers) that the silicon can be used again, but since I didn't use a blower some of the pins (connectors) where damaged. Only halve of the process is confirmed.

Good luck, we'll wait 4 your results if you get a working LCD somewhere..
