You need to contact an Internet Service Provider in your area who provides a dial up service. You will also need a dial up 56k modem.
The ISP can supply the setup information and maybe able to supply the modem if your computer does not have a built-in modem.
Plug an ethernet cable in and it should use DHCP (autoconfigure) to hook up if you have a broadband service... If you have Wifi then it depends on what Operating System you use ie Windows XP, Vista, Linux, OS X but it should scan for networks in the area and connect to which ever one you would like to use. Also if you have a dialup ISP you will need to plug the laptop modem to a phone line and dial out that way... The easiest way is to run the disc that your ISP gives you after everything is setup like in the directions.
what connection you use? a dial up or broadband acces? if u use a broadband acces (maybe from office) u need to fill in gateway and preffered dns that your office use.( u can see the number from another computer) You can find the setting in : control panel--->Networks Connection--->Local Area Network - Right click on Local Area Network, choose 'Properties' ----> Internet Protocols(TCP/IP)
