Question about Amana NAV3330E Top Load Washer
I took the panels off to locate exactly where the grinding sound is coming from. it will spin, but not agitate, appears that all of the belts are intact, hoses are fine....i hate to pay a repairperson big bucks! what can i do????
With all other aspects working... The inside of the agitator--where the transmission shaft attaches--can become worn, and strip out the spline that allows the agitator to properly grip the shaft. Then the transmission shaft rotates back and forth as it should, but the agitator doesn't move properly. If this happens, you may need to replace the agitator and/or the transmission spline. It is still cheaper to pay the repairman and part replacement then a whole new unit, When calling a repair person tell them that your machine will spin but no aggitation, don't tell them you think... most are honest and fair, to save some if you can take the machine to the repair shop it will save you some service charges.
