Region Code Error

When I try to play a DVD on my Dell Inspiron 1525 Laptop, I get a region error code. I am prompted to either leave the region code the same or change it. It says I can only change it 5 times, but even when you try to change it, it doesn't work. I have googled this error but find many sites that don't really offer up a true solution to the problem

Did you check on how many times you have changed the region.. if you have not yet changed try uninstalling the drivers of your dvd drive from device manager, restart the system and windows will update the drivers automatically. try doing that if your os is xp

Sylvania portable DVD player says "wrong region"?

The "wrong region" error on your DVD or Blu-ray player means you are trying to play a disc that is not meant to be played in your country.
You can download some region free players on your laptop and region free players can play dvd of any region code. You can try Leawo Blu-ray Player which is a region free player and a free Blu-ray player and DVD player.

Hi my dell inspiron 530 computer recently can't play disc ,so like most people i checked for solutions for this problem ,non of them worked which got me furious until i found out that my Region fo

To change the Region code on your DVD player, open Control Panel - System - Hardware - Device manager, and click on DVD/CD ROM drives, then right click on the DVD drive and click Properties then click on DVD Region.
You can enter a new region and it also shows you how many changes have been made.
NOTE you can make only 4 changes and the player will lock permanently on the 4th change.
If you want to play DVDs from any region you maybe able to upgrade the firmware to make it region free BUT if you make a mistake or installed the wrong firmware the player will be a piece of junk.
The best solution to make the player region free is to install a piece of software (Passkey for DVD) that allows you to play DVDs from any region and Passkey for Blu-ray that allows you to play Blu-rays from any region. There are several available on the Internet but my favourite is DVD-Region Free From: -

We have a Dell Inspiron 1545...The DVD player says we have a Region error unable to play DVD because it does not match the region code on your disc player.... Must insert a disc created fro your region...

If you have some region-locked DVDs and you can't play on your DVD player, you can remove the region code by just get a dvd copy disc without region codese. You can try Leawo Blu-ray Copy which enables you to remove region code from Blu-ray and DVD.

Trying to unlock my DVD and get it back to region 1. Dell laptop with Vista.. An software out there or freeware that can help? Thanks in advance

I would recommend that you download a freeware application called VLC Media Player by VideoLAN.It is an open-source utility that is free to use, and plays virtually any type of video, including any type of DVD. The best part is that it completely avoids having to unlock the DVD to set the region. It also works on Windows PC, Mac, Linux, and even other more obscure operating systems. The link to download VLC Media Player is here:

http://www.videolan.org/vlc/

I hope this helps you out. Please feel free to share your comments about how this has helped you, and also to rate my solution. Thank you and good luck!

Reigon code

The region code for the DVD drive can be change 5 times. After the 5th time, the drive is locked to that region. This is by design, and Dell will not warrant the drive for being locked or help circumvent the DVD Region code system.

You can search google for region code reset and find possible workarounds.
