I have Compaq Presario 5000 with Win 98 (not connected to internet). I have HP Deskjet 3740 without software. Is driver CD available?
Hi
The printer doesn't support windows 98. supported systems are:
» Microsoft Windows Vista
» Microsoft Windows Vista (64-bit)
» Microsoft Windows XP
» Microsoft Windows XP x64
» Microsoft Windows 2000
» Mac OS X
» Mac OS 9
» Linux
Drivers are available at this page below:

Note that there are no drivers for 98 and it won't be simple to get the printer to work with the 98.. I would recommend upgrading to 2000 or windows xp. if your computer is from 1998 it might be better to buy a new computer.
Todays printers don't work with 10 year old computers anymore.
linux would work on the computer for sure, and so would the printer but using linux is quite complex, you would need to get someone to install it for you and make it look as much like windows as possible, its a whole new system..
Let me know if you need anything else.
Thanks,
Ekse
Driver CD for HP 3740 on Windows 98 is not available.
Drivers for this model start from windows 2000.
You can download drivers from Windows 2000 onward here.
