It shows there is some problem with the inbuilt device firmware. The only solution is to do a reset on your device. Please follow the instructions below to reset your Philips SA1MXX02W/97.
1.Insert a pen tip or other object into the reset hole located at the bottom of the GoGear Mix. Hold until the player shuts down.
If the reset option is unsuccessful, follow the steps below to recover the GoGear Mix with the Philips Device Manager:
1.On your computer, select Start >Programs > Philips Digital Audio Player > GoGear Mix Device Manager > Philips Device Manager to launch the Philips Device Manager. 2.Turn off the GoGear Mix before you continue. 3.Press and hold the volume button + while you connect the GoGear Mix to your computer. 4.Keep holding the key until the Philips Device Manager acknowledges the GoGear Mix and enters the recovery mode. 5.On the computer, click the Repair button and follow the instructions of the Philips Device Manager to complete the recovery process. 6.When the recovery is completed, disconnect the GoGear Mix from your computer. 7.Restart the GoGear Mix.
Hope you are satisfied with my solution. Thanks for choosing Fixya.
Your GoGear is freezing because there is an error in the operating system and can be fixed by resetting the device. Resetting the GoGear is similar to rebooting your computer. You will not lose any of the data uploaded to the device. To reset the GoGear, press the "Reset" button located on the left of the device. The screen will go blank for a few seconds and then turn back on.
If the GoGear freezes after uploading a file to the device or if one song or sound file freezes the device each time you play it, the file is likely corrupt and needs to be removed from the GoGear. Connect the GoGear to a computer and delete the file from the device.
If it got wet it might still be wet from the inside and that is why your touch screen wont work, You would need to open it and clean it from inside. Or it could have a bad digitizer and that is a second reason why the touch screen wouldnt work. You can try doing a hard reset if you says it just shows a triangle on the screen.
Turn the G1 off. If it’s frozen on, take the battery out and put it back in the unit.Hold the Home and Power keys down at same time for about 25 seconds. You will see a yellow triangle screen with exclamation point in the middle Now to wipe the device clean: Press Alt+L. Press Alt+W for a factory reset. Press the Home and Back keys again for about 25 seconds. The device should then reset again and the hard reset is complete.
It just says gogear on the screen and it will not show anything else. i
can't turn it off it seems as if none of the bottons are working. the
battery lookes to be charging then this Gogear will just come back on
till the battery runs out. what can i do.
I just repeated the steps above on more than one computer until it finally connected and showed the songs, then I deleted everything, restarted it and voila` all the menu's showed up. Then the first thing I did was reset to factory settings. After that it worked perfectly. I don't really know what combination really fixed it, but I kept hitting the reset button, restarting while holding down the volume + key and the <loop> key until it eventually responded.
Whenever I go to turn on my Philips Gogear audio video mp3 player, it shows the welcome screen but it doesn't go to the GoGear or the updating screens. Also, whenever I plug it into my computer through the USB cord, the charging screen doesn't show and it does not show that it is connected on 'My Computer'
WARNING: this process will erase all songs off the GoGear. Disconnect the GoGear from computer. Turn the GoGear off. Hold in the volume + button. Reconnect the GoGear while holding in the volume + button. Continue holding the volume + button. After 5-50 seconds, Windows will pop-up a "Found New Hardware Wizard." - complete the wizard (BTW, you can take your hand ff the volume + button now). Good To Go (Gear)! -Tha Mp3 Doctor
