SOURCE: query on electronic safe

Someone mentioned they were looking for a combination code to open a diigital safe....

As for a code to open your safe -- there is a factory setting, but if the combination has been changed then the factory setting won't help you much.

Now there is a reset code that the manufacturer can give you. It will reset the combination to the factory combination, however the manufacturer will probably not give you this code 'cause they don't know who you are. You will need the safe serial number for this.

They will give it to a bonded locksmith however.

The other 'secret' code that I am sure is buried in all electronic locks is the CIA/FBI/Homeland Security/police department back door code, but I'm certain that the manufacturer can't even acknowledge that there is such a code, much less give it to you.

If you are serious about a secure safe, a dial lock can only be opened (without damage) by the combination that is set for that lock. A manipulation-proof lock is nigh unto impossible to pick.

good luck

Remove light governor

I installed my Hunter Ceiling Fan a little over a year ago. A few nights ago my wife told me the lights in the ceiling fan blinked a few times when she turned it on. Over the next few day the problem got much worse. When I turned on the light switch, the lights would not turn on. After a few minutes the lights would begin to flash, like a strobe light. This flashing would last for about a minute.
This morning I removed the light kit. I noticed the watt regulator, part 98480-02. I connected the wires directly that were wired through the regulator. So far, the light now works fine!

I purchased the hunter outdoor fan about 3 years ago. All three of them are leaking oil. What is the problem?

Might be overfilled on oil. Oil should be only 1/2 " from the top of the reservoir. also check that the reservoir tank is on tight. Note (Left land treads).

I have a safe but cannot find what model it is

Not all locksmiths specialize in safes, but if you can find one, it will take this person since he does this stuff all day and is probably familiar with your unit. You'll need to shop around the locksmith community for a referral. . Sorry I can't be of more help.

Hampton Bay Kemper running Half Speed & Half As Bright

My hampton bay fan began running at full speed on all three fan positions a few weeks ago. I replaced the switch, which did not work. I noticed that the small black box (capacitor) inside the recess behind the light cover has a large bulge that has cracked the plastic. The part number (C61 E185116) does not reveal any websites that can offer a replacement, and redirects to This fan is apparently made by home depot, and it is not backed in the same manner as Hunter fans are (I received a free replacement part for a Hunter about five years after purchase). From this experience and what I have read in this forum, I have learned to avoid the hampton bay fans. It is too difficult to find a part when there is no real manufacturer to contact for assistance.

Lasko 3723 burnt motor

sorry but you need to purchase a new fan.
some times the motor is not aline correctly and the rotor "part that spins the blade" rubs on the stator "the part with the copper wire:" the motor
over heat with the friction, then smoke followed by the coil burning.
