Question about Computers & Internet

Cannot receive video movement link on the WebCam from New Zealand and Canada. We receive it ok from the UK. We have a new web cam and they can see us moving okay but our picture is static. This is when we are in Skype

Thank you for still trying, but it does'nt really help us as the people we are calling in NZ and Canada can get moving video pictures from other callers with no problem and they can be seen moving by the caller, so surely the fault is not their end. They have no trouble at all linking up with us and seeing us moving but we cannot see them moving all we get is the static picture.

The problem is likely not to be caused by your connection if you receive and send the webcam ok from the UK, probably the people you are calling have too slow connection for a dual (incoming/outgoing) webcam data stream...or they are using simultaneously some application which drains bandwidth.
Retry with Skype only running on both sides(kill any other bandwidth consuming app/update.).
if it still doesn't work, the people you are calling need a faster connection.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Dear Tori,
Greetings from New Zealand! You have not supplied much info - so we'll start from the beginning...SAFELY Remove web-cam connection - (I presume it is a USB connection?) - by R-clicking on the little icon - usally green - in the systray by the clock, & following instructions. Have you installed the web-cam "driver" software from the cd that came with the web-cam? If not then do so. Plug in web-cam USB & wait until pop-ups notify you that web-cam device is detected & ready to use. L-Click on "START" > All Programs > Web-cam program.
If this option does not work/is not available, then OPEN "My Computer" & click on web-cam icon. This should start web-cam software & you SHOULD see your smiling face on screen!
If Nothing works - then you will have to make a note of the model & contact Gateway for support.
I hope that this helps! GBU! - Bruce.

You may have to set the camera up in Windows live or whatever it is you are using in the options. Both video and audio have to be calibrated as well as in the software you got with the cam. Ensure you have the latest version of MSN which is windows live. Just to check the cam is ok, make a short video in windows movie maker, if it's ok then it's the messaging programme that's at fault.
