My recently purchased HP Envy 14" has been impossible to connect to a projector or an external LCD monitor since it does not have a VGA output plug. I bought a HDMI to VGA connector, but that does not...

You mentioned you bought a HDMI to VGA connector, but it should be more like a box since it has to convert the digital signal to an analog one. An HDMI cable is purely digital (1's and 0's) while VGA is completely analog (waves). Here is an HDMI to VGA Conversion Box: http://www.svideo.com/ext-dvi-2-vga.html

I have problem with vga it doesn't display and it comes lines on the screen and the laptop doesn't boot too

I'm no computer expert but have done a few of vga and no boot problems. Try your vga on another computer to confirm if vga is working. If the vga works on another computer, then you can concentrate on your computer booting.
Try turning on your computer on safe mode..most computers boots on safe mode when you turn the computer on and continuously press f8, normal start up will happen but it will be in safe mode, but notice display will be a little different(bigger) ..try and restore your computer settings on a later date by doing a system restoration. Or if you know any software recently installed that might caused your computer not to boot, you can uninstall it when in safe mode...try these and see if it works.
cheers

Laptop screen broken but a have a VGA-Scart how can i get it work

there should be a FN + F5, F6, F8, F8, F10 key combination that you need to press to enable external vga.

hold the FN key + one of the F keys that has a picture of a tv on it.
repeat up to 3 times to toggle laptop, vga , and laptop + vga.

Icant install vga drivers for my pc i have the problem display

go to start
than run
type in msconfig
and disable all services and starts
press ok
reboot
install ur vga driver
when it says u need to reboot prior vga driver than dont
go again in msconfig
enable all what u have disabled and press ok than reboot
when ur system start the vga driver is loaded in the services and wil work properly

if this wil not work than there is a program in the background that u wont let the vga driver install

than u go again in the msconfig and there u disable one by one the servicers and starts
that means disable the hook in the tab press ok and reboot and try to install the vga driver
its a long process but so u will find the software thats blocking ur install

Asus p4p800s.x motherboard drivers

Hi bernard_in_c, you can download the audio & VGA software directly from Asus. Click on the link below. Choose your operating system from the pop-up window than click search. The driver download page will open: http://support.asus.com/download/download.aspx?SLanguage=en-us&model=P4P800S-X An Asus pop-up window will open & you must choose your operating system from the dropdown menu. Than click the Search button.

Click the + sign next to the device you want to download. With the Asus P4P800S-X motherboard there is not a separate VGA driver. (The VGA graphics card is a PCI VGA integrated card).
The VGA driver is part of the chipset software. Open the + sign next to Other. Download, Intel(R) Chipset Software Installation Utility 5.0.2.1003 for Windows.
By installing the chipset driver software (In a running system of windows), it will over-write all chipset drivers within your system. It is possible your windows may become wacky. Normally the chipset driver software is installed right after installing windows. (A fresh install).
Make sure you have the bios settings set correctly for the VGA/PCI. Open your manual to page 2-18 & set up per page 2-19. Go to Graphic adapter priority set this to, [PCI/AGP]. Next set the amount of system memory you want the graphics card to use. At the bottom of page 2-16, leave AGP/PCI frequency set to, [Auto].

If you run into any troubles, just post them here.
Good luck bernard_in_c!
Mike
