It seems the user you are using to log in is not set as an administrator, and was not given permission to change the password without logging in as administrator.
When windows restarts, instead of entering the password press ctrl+alt+del+del, note that you press del twice while holding down ctrl and alt together. this should bring you to another window were you have to manually enter your username and password, type administrator with no password and press enter, that is if you did not set an administrator password. This should pretty much solve your problem.

Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Good luck!

Forgot power on pass word

This is only possible is you are using Windows XP. If your operating system is windows Xp, follow the steps below:

  1. Turn on your computer and allow it get to the stage where is will ask for user/log pasword
  2. Press Ctrl + Alt + Del your keyboard.
  3. A user name and password prompt will pop up.
  4. On the user name type in "administrator
  5. On the password, type in "administrator"
  6. and you windows will open, go to control panel from there to change the password.
That's all. In other words, the user name and password is administrator.

But in the case of windows Vista, you will have to re-run windows operating system, because vista security is very tight and its difficult to break into its password.

Take care.

Bypassing xp password

Download the Offline NT Password Recovery & Registry Editor tool from this site It is an ISO image that you will need to burn to a CD. This will create a bootable disk that you will use to bypass Windows security (by booting up a copy of linux) and it will allow you to erase the administrator password. Do not try to just change the password since it does not always work properly. Just select the option to blank out the password. When done, make sure you select the option to write the registry to the hard disk otherwise it will not actually change the password.

Me again

O.k. Then what this person did is set up an administrator password during the XP install. This overrides the key administrator account in safe mode and only allows his/her account to exist as the administrator. The computer is still good and usable, unfortunately, without the password the operating system is not. You will have to wipe the hard drive, reformat (NTFS), and reinstall the operating system. Sorry, no easy way out on this one.
