I can't help you there. I stopped repairing Pentium 2 machines after the P4 dual core came out a few years ago. You could try Google to see if anyone still has tech info on them.

ALL I GET IS A CONSTANT BEEP ON START UP. NO MESSAGES JUST FAST BEEP

It is common for most motherboards to beep to let you know
that something is not right: for example, missing/incompatible
RAM modules (or RAM modules not properly installed) or
missing Graphic Card or CPU improperly installed or overheating
beyond specs...If it's a new motherboard, lay it out outside the
case, installed with the minimum one RAM module, a Graphic Card
(if no built-in Video), the keyboard and mouse. Plug in the power
supply and CPU power coonectors and make sure you can post it
without any error. If there are, check your CPU and its socket, check
for thermal grease. Check for properply installed RAM module. Check
for Graphic Card if any. Of course, assuming that all your components
are compatible with your motherboard (consult user's manual or
manufacturer's website)

Hi, I need standard spec info of VGA built on Asus P5GC-MX 1333 whether 64 Mb or 128 Mb. Many thanks & regards, Richard

you can use up to a maximum of 224 mb of your computer's RAM for the onboard video chip to use. You can install a video card with any amount of memory (which would give you a lot better video performance).

Don't bother upgrading that old thing.

You can pick up a much better second hand Pentium 4 for $60 or so, and even Windows XP can only handle about 4 Gigs of RAM.

Very few Pentium 3s will support a 2Gig module in each slot. Just because they sell 2 Gig sticks does not mean they will work in your computer.

If you want to know how much memory your old machine will hold and support, just go to:

When you get there, run their SCAN MY COMPUTER utility.

This will tell you exactly how much memory and what type you currently have installed, how many memory slots are available on the motherboard, how much each slot will support individually, as well as the maximum total amount of RAM that the motherboard will support.

Good luck.

Cpu speed for ddr 400 ram

cpu speed has nothing to do with ram. they are completely independant. ram speed is important to the FSB (front serial bus) this is the speed at which your motherboard communicates with the devives attached to it. cpu speed refers to how fast a cpu can process info. or how fast it "thinks". most motherboards have the capability of upgrading cpu's. your mobo (motherboard will support the following cpu's:
any pentium 4 up to 3.0 ghz
it supports the following ram
ddr (nott ddr 2 or 3) up to 2 gigs (1 gig each slot) of 533mhz speed (or less)
it also supports up to 2 gigs of sdram either pc133 or pc100
you are using 400 speed ram as you stated i would upgrade to a 533 speed ram as it will be faster, but this is not necessary. as for the cpu just get any P4 (pentium 4) that is 3.0 ghz or less and it will work.

U may always refer to it motherboard to get to know the supported hardware that plug to it. Since u are mention about Intel 945G/GZ/P/PL family motherboard, each type of the motherboard (type G, GZ, P, PL) have their own specification, but the same thing is their are design to support Intel Core 2 Duo. Pentium D or Pentium 4 processor. And all can support DDR2 memory. Here you can refer to the manual of the motherboard for more details e.g. pg17 (availability 2009Nov16): http://www.intel.com/design/chipsets/datashts/307502.htm

Intel ASUS P4 845 GL Motherboard

Hi, For an ASUS P4BGL-VM Intel 845GL Chipset Ultra ATA100 MATX CPU Type: Intel Pentium 4 478-Pin (OEM), the Asus site specifies max of 2 x 184-pin DIMM Sockets support max. 2GB PC2100 / PC1600 non-ECC DDR or SDRAM memory but not "and". Personally, I find it more practical to install 2 X 1Gb rather than a single 2Gb. Hope this gives you some idea. Kind regards.
