Question about Xerox WorkCentre Pro 416 All-In-One Laser Printer
After installing the GDI driver on Windows XP, for Xerox Workcentre pro 416, and try to print anything, I get the following error:
Unimessage pro driver error
Machine device id can not be recognised, please select device type explicitly. I tried it with several PC-s. Also I tried the drivers of the 416Si version. They install fine, but the printer is not printing anything. No error messages. Please help!
Try reseting the nvram. if no luck after that try changing the image control board.. with another one if it's avaliable.(maybe you have another machine around. If not then conect your printer to the network reset the printer so you can get an ip address.. usually it's a 192.168.*.* Then type that ip address 192.168.*.* into the top of your web address bar and you should be able to see you printer. If not i would change the image control board because it might be bad.

We have a WorkCentre 7655 that has been working fine for ages but is now causing some issues. A user who is running Windows 7 32 bit edition is sending files to print (using the secure print function) - the system is reporting they have spooled fine to the printer - but when they go and release the document they are getting (more often than not) about 16 out of 21 pages (for example) and then a PCL XL Error (Subsystem: Text, InternalError 0x50, Operator: Text, Position: 8564). I have another document that 9 times out of ten will actually crash the WorkCentre completely and cause it to reboot mid way through printing.
The driver we are using is the latest: "Xerox WorkCentre 7655 rev 2.0 PCL6"
As mentioned the user is running Windows 7 - the printer is shared from a Windows 2003 Server which has the same version of the driver.
