    Clarification:
Thanks for the help rowdy... It starts the fan and green light blinks as soon as battery is inserted. depressing safety and/or trigger does nothing (except I can smell butane building up) it just cycles with fan and lights going for ~ 3 seconds, then stops for a half second, and then repeats until battery is removed. It did this one time previously but it stopped a couple of hours later.

    Again I appreciate your help!

I'm going to take it apart when I get home tonight.

Well, a simple cleaning is all it seemed to need!
I couldn't really find anything wrong w/ it. This is the first time I've ever opened it up (it's 6+ years old) and I was amazed at how clean it was inside.
This nailer has been a tank! I used it to help build a 1200sf cabin in Idaho. It will occasionally not fire but it's usually just the safety not being fully depressed.

    Thanks for the tips rowdy!

By not spark I guess you mean fire? There could be a couple items that are causing your problem. When you press on the safety does the fan come on, if so does it go out after a short time, when you depress the trigger does it do like above? If not you could have something not releasing against the triggers or the circuit assembly is bad or even worse for money the spark unit. When you decide to take apart let me know and I will try and help further with trouble shooting

My paslode cordless framing nailer won't shoot? It has a loose o ring at the top

The most common issue is bad fuel. It doesn't matter if you just bought it, many stores don't rotate their stock - check the date stamped on the bottom of the cylinder.
The cylinder o-ring is generally loose fitting and the spark plug is very seldom an issue.
Is the green light on the handle flashing when you install the battery?
Does the fan run when you depress the nose?
Those answers will help narrow down your problem.

Gun was jamming up so i cleaned it now green light flashes but if i disconect wire put battery in then plug wires back in fan runs then stops and green light flashes again what could it be

the green light flashing means the tool is ready to fire. when the trigger switch is depressed or the safety activated the fan will run for a short time and automatically shut off. if the tool is not firing then it could be a loose connection of the circuit board or the spark unit. Let me know what the exact problem is and I will try and help further. Also check the expiration date on the bottom of the fuel cell.

Paslode 900420 nailer fan keeps running. Nails drive fine but I have to release the battery to stop the fan.

Hi,

Here is a tip that I wrote about the Paslode nailers and the problems that can come up with them.

I also have a link to the Paslode manuals which contain Paslode cleaning and troubleshooting guides.

If you need parts for your Paslode, there also is a link for a site that sells the Paslode nailer parts.

Paslode 1st fix gun .battery fully charged and placed into gun.the light flashes green and the gun will fire once after which the light flashes red and the gun will not fire.any ideas.i have tryed other...

I would look at the fuel cell on the bottom is a expiration date and they will not fire older fuel. Also do you remove the battery and it does the same thing? When you depress the safety on the work can you hear the fan motor? You say the tool is clean does it have enough lube to move all items freely. Just a couple thoughts, Also look at the spark plug wire for being broke or coming out of the spark unit. Let me know and we will go into this deeper.

Paslode framing nailer 1998 yr. model when engaged wont fire

you have spark and cleaned tool correct, but fan won't turn that freely, if so the fan motor is bad, it should come on when you pull the trigger or move the roller lever for the safety. The fan is about 80.00 Let me know if I missed something and how did you check the spark?

1 Answer

Paslode framing nailer loss of power.

Here's what I found at the Paslode Troubleshooting Site:
Tool will not cycle - fan runs, indicator light
is solid green.

Lockout bracket is stuck in lockout position.
Work-contacting element is bent, or build-up of
debris in track restricts operation.
Follower is not behind fasteners.
Fuel Cell empty.
Spark wire out of spark plug.
Spark plug is dirty.
No spark is generated.
Check lockout.

Remove and inspect lower probe. Clean and
lubricate track with Paslode Impulse® oil.
Repair or replace lower probe as required.
Position follower behind fasteners.
Replace fuel cell.
Remove cap and check spark lead, insert in
spark plug and replace cover.
Clean tool cylinder head and spark plug.

If this doesn't work, I suggest contacting Paslode directly 800-222-6990
