H Malawi, If the Unit is new kindly do not mess with it, ask the installation guy to help you out. else check your AV input cables and connections taken from DTH or DVD player and check its resolution values. Commonly for Plasma tv's if the screen went out,,the problem will be the CATHODE RAY TUBE,it is costly to buy.if you want you can buy it,,or it may be the D-board problem will be also,,, but it is unusual,so check the tube.
You have a burn in problem from watching widescreen movies.If you have access to a signal generator or tv setup disc run a perfectly white screen on the plasma for about 30 min.This should help even out the pixels on the display.
