I don't know if this a great solution. anytime i tried to port video from the camera to the computer(vista), i couldn't get it to work. i bought a dazzle, but sorry folks i think it's junk. take video, stills and DV to memory stick then read it from there. it works great. i spent alot of time trying diffrent ways and this way is the best. pull you're dvd's from there too. one more thing- lightscribe and label flash are extremely over rated.

How to Transfer video from Sony Handycam CCD-TR416 to DVD - You need a DVD Recorder / Player, connected to your TV. Then using the audio / video cables from your camcorder, connect them to the TV as well. Transfer the video from my Mini DV to PC

If you have a dvd recorder, you can hook up the cam to a recorder if it has rca jacks on the end of the cable.
Or if your handycam has a memory card slot, record straight to memory card or transfer memory to memory card, then place it in a computer with an sd memory card slot.

I have a Sony Video8 Handycam CCD TRV211.

Hi,
If you are asking about CCD-TRV211 camcorder?
CCD-TRV211 is analog Video-8 camcorder so its movie data is not digital and can not be connected directly with computer via USB port.
Best and easiest was is to connect camera with DVD Recorder and burn DVD, this will convert analog movie file into digital data and you can copy it to hard disk of computer.

Video memory full on camcord, how to burn it onto a dvd?

First be sure to have installed ImageMixer software that came with the camera. If you can't find the disc go here... http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/swu-list.pl?mdl=DCRSR40&LOC=3 then select your operating system and then select imagemixer to download.

Step 1:
Place camera onto docking station, connect usb cable to computer, open camera door, turn on camera. Imagemixer should open automatically, if not open up imagemixer.

Transfer to Computer:
Select "Viewing and Editing", then select "handycam" tap, click on "▼" (arrow) facing down, then click "movies". Place a check mark on each movie you wish to move to the computer then click "Options" tab (lower left corner) and see where the movies will end up once you click "Import to computer".

Burn to DVD:
Be sure you have a DVD drive that can write to DVD's. Will have DVD R/RW on the face of the drive. Place a blank DVD into drive. Follow Step 1. Then click "One Touch DVD Burn" from the imagemixer menu. Follow any instructions on screen.

Or you can choose to use Windows Explorer and select the drive letter that is your camera's harddrive and move/copy/cut/paste files directly from this location to another.

Hi8 Video to DVD

CCD-TRV37 is analog video camcorder and can not be hooked directly with computer because camcorder video-audio out is analog and computer needs digital format.

You can hook camcorder with DVD Recorder and burn a DVD. Now you have data in digital format and can transfer in your computer.

Filming transfer

Several steps are involved. You will need a firewire or USB cord to connect your camera to your computer. You will need a video capture application on your PC. Macs come with this program, I-Movie. Once captured, the movies can be edited. Your PC will need a combination drive to burn a DVD from the captured material. An easier way: Take your camera output and feed it directly into a DVD recorder. No editing, but it is a one-step process. I use both methods.
