Is the TV under warranty? If it is don't muck around, contact them straight away as you have a electronic problem with your screen.
Before that make sure the yellow chord is in the visual port and red and white into sound. 2) If thats all good try an experiment, as you know the sound is good, use one of the sound cables to replace the yellow. Is there a picture now? If so replace chord, if not make contact to exchange for warranty.

Hi, I own a Toshiba 40rv525u lcd television set for 3 years. Suddenly, it turns on and off intermittently and I cannot solve the issue. I have already purchased and installed a new/used main board part...

Good day sir!!!

I want to know first if your TV have blinking lights red or green after the TV turns off?..if so,please count the blinking light to diagnose where the fault comes from..Or try to disconnect all connections of your TV such as DVD etc..then try again..

If the power supply and main board are both new..the possible problems are overheat or overload so please try the suggestions above..If not work please let me know if you have multimeter or if you know how to used it because we will proceed to voltage data..

Thank you for purchasing my service..

Have a nice day!!!

I have a samsung lns4095d and it has short horizontal white/red lines going down the center of the screen. They jump around, and it's on every screen....setup, cable, hdmi, etc...what is my problem?

Hi, Make sure that you don't have any florescent tube lights near your TV. The light has some affect on TVs. Move the TV away form light.

Do you have anything connected to the tv other than cable. If problem persist call repairman and see what he has to say. Good luck.

I have an LG 42PX3RVA. The screen went blank, but there is sound. I don't know it there was a "pop", because I was not at home when it happened. I have disconnected the power and checked all...

Test the fuses using a fuse tester, if you don't have one then use a flashlight and some wires,
connect the light in series with the fuse and the batteryfor the light if it turns on the fuse is good if not then it is blown and should be replaced.

The screen turned off abruptly. You can tell the t.v. is on but no picture. I have only had the t.v for 4 years

With the tv on press a bright flashlight against the screen. Look for a moving image around the flashlight. This show an image in getting to the screen. You need a back light to see it.
You need a new back light inverter board.

IF YOU KNOW HOW TO WORK WITH ELECTRONICS REPAIR(replace board ) or have a friend with knowledge/skill you can fix it.

You did not give a make and model of the set so I am not able to suggest a source.

: sound is ok, no picture, happend suddenly, no one turned light down, background light is ok, power is ok

Turn tv on and place a bright flashlight against the screen. Look around the edge for a moving image. This verify that the image is getting to the screen.

It sounds like the back light inverter board should be replaced. This board supplies power to the fluorescent lamps to light the screen.

If this set is under warranty you should return it to get it repair/replace.

IF YOU KNOW HOW TO WORK WITH ELECTRONICS REPAIR(replacing board ) or have a friend with knowledge/skill you can fix it.
If you have a local source for the board you may get it. Or you

can get the part number off the board in your set and search for it. Since this set model is for the UK a general search did not find the part. However if the 'u' on the end of the model is dropped and then google , several sources show up in the USA. I do not know if the inverter board is the same so you will have to verify.

The board looks something like;

Have audio? I turned off my speakers so I couldn't tell. Blue light? Does it blink twice then stay solid? They went through the 2 large panels and power supply and couldn't get it to work. Solution was plasma panel was shot. $3000 bill.

I'm waiting to hear from others if it was one of the smaller boards around the edges as I have a giant piece of metal in my basement that I get to dispose of. My sony 52" should be here tomorrow.

42" LG Plasma Black Screen

Yes, I had the same problem, it happened after 14 months of my purchase, or just 2 months after expiry date of warranty. But remember they have 60,000 hours warranty on screen and this fault is part of screen (no picture J it is screen problem), I called LG, first they did not accept the claim but soon after I mentioned that I have done many research and this is very common problem due to use of faulty part or unreliable design, and if they don't fix it on their cost I will take legal action, one of the supervisor contacted me and after saying LALALALALALALALALALA accepted to send someone to fix with no cost. But I have found out they did to many others whom take this mater serious so it was not just me alone J They are aware of using faulty part is some ranges of their products and now this common problem appears, LG don’t like it and wants to somehow get away. ((((((((((So don’t let it happen))))))))) some of us paid around $5000 to $7000 when this TV came out, recently price went down to around $2000. CALL THEM and ask FIX or COURT? For sure they fix it for you free of charge J Imagine how much would it cost them to recall all TVs which they know is faulty?
