My HP C6180 is out of magenta, but I only need to print in black. I went to properties and selected grayscale w/black cartridge only, but it still tells me that it cannot print until magenta cartridge is replaced. Is there any way around this? Thanks in advance for any help!

I have the same problems, any of the colour ink are dried up the would not print in black. HP should be able to answer our problems.
i tell it to print in gray scale all the time thinking it was using the black cartridge - I checked my cartridge levels this morning and the colors are almost empty, but black is FULL.
my hp only prints in black and green photosmartc6180 all in one.
I have the same problem. No color in one cartridge, All I want to do is print in black. This unit is costing a fortune each time we have to print jobs.
My wife has the same type of problem. As far as I know You can not print in only black if one of your colors is empty.
