I wouldn't call it a easy solution, but your phone is "bricked" anyway; you can attempt to re-flash the phone firmware which can be downloaded using the Sony Ericsson PC Suite.

Just run the "Update Service" application with you phone plugged into your computer using the connection cable.

90% chance your firmware is out of date and the application will attempt to flash your phone and return it to factory settings; you may loose contacts not stored on your SIM card.

If this was happening and the update was possible (and successful) I'd try opening the phone up and make sure that the screen connector is properly connected, especially if the phone has been dropped or has taken any type of physical shock.
