Error message: cyan imaging unit is either missing or unseated

The error message is: install or reseat cyan imaging unit.
The issue is that normally you'll get warning when either the imaging unit or toner cartridge are running low or need replacing - unfortunately, one minute I printed something out and the next minute I was getting this error message. There is plenty of toner in the toner cartridge and I know the imaging unit is not near end of life - so I don't want to spend the money to buy a new one - because I'm sure it's just not reading it properly.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cyan imaging unit replaced when display indicates but display still says the imaging unit needs to be replaced even though it was removed and reseated several times.

The problem is with the top cover assembly. It could be a few things. I would first try the toner sensor flags(the magnet may not be strong enough to read properly). Also replace the toner cartidge because it's magnet may also have gotten weak. Third, I would try the Toner sensor board.

I have had this problem with many printers and normally it is just the flags because of the weak magnets.

Michel's solution works! I had just bought my 7300N used and everything was great except I kept getting a "cyan toner is unseated" error message. I mean, I would run a test page and then I'd get the error...like every other page. I read through the other suggestions on this page and I tried the "crazy" suggestion of removing the foam on the flag and putting sticky tack on the side of the flags and my problem is solved. I've so far printed multiple pages with no trouble. So go to: http://www.michelsplace.co.uk/xerox-7300.html Michel mentions that the foam you take off is to sound deaden when the flags hit, but I can't hear anything different over the general hum of the printer, so I'm happy.

C-2551 error code

Check the cyan image unit. Pull it out and shake side to side to spread the developer in side the image unit along the whole length of the image unit. Then reseat the image unit. if the code comes back replace the image unit with a NEW one do not use old one hanging around. Also recommend using OEM cartridge.3rd party can cause problems. could also be a circuit board (Expensive). But have a tech re-flash firmware before replacing board

Xerox Phaser 7400 U28 error message

The Service manual says:

The Drum Phase Sensor for the named Imaging Unit indicates that the drum is out of position.

Initial Actions:

Reseat the indicated Imaging Unit.
Cycle the printer's power.

after these steps it gets a lot more detailed and you would need to be an experienced tech to understand everything and follow the steps within a timely manner, if reseating the cyan imaging unit doesn't fix the problem, then you will have to call for service.

Hope that helps

THE 942.02 Service Yellow TMC Sens message is in the screen. What does it mean. It will not let me print

Error indicates a problem with the Cyan toner cartridge/developer. Try the following steps:
Power off the printer/MFP and open the toner access door. Reseat all of the toner cartridges. Power on the printer/MFP again and print a test page. Did the error message return? Power off the printer/MFP and remove the developer unit for the color specified in the error message, and then reseat it. Try printing another test page, verify if you're still getting the same error. It is possible that specified color's toner cartridge and developer unit are defective. If you have a replacement toner cartridge and developer, install them as a test and print a trial page.
