Question about Xerox Phaser 7400/DXF Laser Printer
The error message is: install or reseat cyan imaging unit.
The issue is that normally you'll get warning when either the imaging unit or toner cartridge are running low or need replacing - unfortunately, one minute I printed something out and the next minute I was getting this error message. There is plenty of toner in the toner cartridge and I know the imaging unit is not near end of life - so I don't want to spend the money to buy a new one - because I'm sure it's just not reading it properly.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
The problem is with the top cover assembly. It could be a few things. I would first try the toner sensor flags(the magnet may not be strong enough to read properly). Also replace the toner cartidge because it's magnet may also have gotten weak. Third, I would try the Toner sensor board.
I have had this problem with many printers and normally it is just the flags because of the weak magnets.

Michel's solution works! I had just bought my 7300N used and everything was great except I kept getting a "cyan toner is unseated" error message. I mean, I would run a test page and then I'd get the error...like every other page. I read through the other suggestions on this page and I tried the "crazy" suggestion of removing the foam on the flag and putting sticky tack on the side of the flags and my problem is solved. I've so far printed multiple pages with no trouble.
