My 8 month old baby got hold of my Razr V3 the other day and drowned it in her drool when she put it in her mouth and sucked on it - as babies do. Since then the keypad no longer works. The phone still starts but I am unable to enter my PIN to activate the SIMM and all my contact numbers are saved to the phone (not the SIMM). Does anyone know a way to obtain my contact details? I have tried connecting it to my PC and using the Motorola software but it does not "see" the mobile's contents. Would really appreciate some help as I have some very important contact numbers I stand to lose otherwise.

If your baby got a hold of it, it's likely there is water damage.
Check your battery. Most of the batteries have a sticker. depending on the brand it will be red or smudgy purple or something else if it was wet - no way to tell if i dont know what brand you have.
you can go to your local store and get them to plug in their cell brite and download the numbers to a new phone. If the phone will stay on for a few minutes and is on the home screen, they will be able to do this.
your phone probably has liquid damage, if u know how to open the screws on the back cover then u can attempt to sort the liquid damage out, if not take it in to a service centre. there are 3 keypad ic's next to the flex connector which are causing the phone keypad not to work.
You should had let the kid drown , hahahahaha just kidding buddy. Your phone is definately going through a slow death, once it has liquid damage you will encounter these problems and alot more others. Liquid damage is liquid damage, your going to need a new phone my friend. Good luck.
my son's phone is about 7 months old too and today when i turned it on it would not go past verizon welcome screen, no matter what. i don't use this phone, but if your volume controller is on the keyboard it could be that the keypad is going bad, which appears to be common with the razr. if it is the keypad, you can pick up a keypad flex cable for about $12 on ebay, and it's a very easy fix, but if it's just 7 months old, i'd return it under warranty, that's what i'm going to do. Let me know what you find out. I just think it's really strange that our phone suffered no damage of any kind, it just quit.
I had exactly the same problem. After unsucessfully looking for a solution on the net I removed the simm chip and set it aside. The next day, I put it on PC usb charge and left it overnight. The next day, I powered it up and it worked. I turned it off and replaced the simm and it is now working fine. Go figure...
This happened to mine after I got the Razor wet - I pulled the battery and the sim card, blew it out with a can of compressed air and it worked for about 8 months. Then it got hot out in my car and started doing the same thing - blowing it out hasnt worked again-
