Question about Gigabyte GA-8LD533 Motherboard

Gigabyte GA-8LD533 start up problem

I am afraid i fiddled with the processor, a 2.2ghz intel celeron, bent the pins whilst putting it back and now the pc doesnt do anything. All you hear is the hard drive start up with no 'beeps'. I want to know if i have JUST blown the processor or have i damaged the motherboard too?

Any help appreciated. Many thanks

My Intel Celeron Dual Core E3400 Processor is running at 1200mhz, instead of 2600mhz. I tried altering all the available Bios options, but to no avail. Even more, my Windows XP x86 Professional recognizes...

Click Start
Click Control Panel
Click Power
Change the power-setting from "portable" (implying long battery life) to "desktop" (implying full speed processing, but shorter battery life).

Gigabyte mother board

hi reason y it wouldn't start is because the 2 is not compatible, what u can do is get a Intel P4 not a celeronD check the socket size and make sure that it correspond with the board that u have. The board that u have uses a 478 socket size so u need to get a processor with the same socket size ok... that should do the trick

Problem with GA 8LD533

There are a few easy fixes for this, first,

Clear the CMOS (Unplug the power cord, remove the battery, and (if it's an option) move the jumper J1 (it has three pins, the jumper covers two, move it to cover the other one), unplug everything external from the motherboard apart from the PSU and power switch and speaker, replace battery, powercord, and jp1, power up - what happens?
