Question about DISH Network ViP622 DVR DTV Receiver / 180-Hours Video Recorder

1 Answer

Tvs sync together

Does anybody know how to undo the tv1 and tv2 from syncing together? It sets itself to that at random and now only one can be watched at a time because it changes the other as well. (What plays on tv1 plays on tv2 and vice versa) It has messed up the recordings, because if somebody turns on the tv and changes the channel, the recording is gone.

The receiver seems to be in single mode. On the right side of the receiver press the front panel. A small pop open door will open and inside there will be a MODE button. Press this button and ensure both the green and blue lights are lit on the receiver. If they are now but weren't earlier this should solve the issue however there may be another issue.

Take the TV2 remote to the TV1 location associated with that system. With the TV1 remote and TV on press menu menu on the TV1 remote this will bring you to the System Info Screen. Near the bottom of the screen there will be two remote addresses- primary=TV1 and Secondary=TV2. Using the TV2 remote press and hold the small clear SAT button until all light across the top light up. Now key in a two digit number that is different from the original secondary address at this location and also different than the address for TV1. Now press the pound key and the SAT button will flash thrice. Now press the record button a few times until the secondary address changes to the number you selected. Once this is done you can exit out of all screens on all receivers and go to the TV2 location that was having the issue and it should be resolved. I hope this resolved your issue and thanks for using Fix Ya.

Dish remote 2 changes channels on both tvs and dish remote 1 changes channels on both tvs

Is the receiver in dual mode? Go to the receiver, open the door, and hit the mode key. If both TVs are still showing the same thing, then the issue is not the mode.

Go to TV 2 (the one without the receiver) and make sure the TV is tuned to channel 60 or 73. If it is still showing the same thing, go to TV1 (the one with the receiver) and hit Menu, system setup, Installation, modulation (menu 6-1-5). make sure the modulation for tv2 matches which channel you put your tv2 on.

Still showing the same thing? check the back of the receiver, the RCA cables (red/white/yellow) are plugged into the TV1 ports not the TV2 ports.

Showing different things but the remote still changes channels on both tvs? Go to TV1, hit menu twice, near the bottom there are two boxes each with a number. This is the address for each remote (tv1 and tv2). On the TV2 remote hold sat until it stays lit, choose a number different than on the screen, touch pound (#), the sat light blinks three times, hit record, the number on the screen should change to match the one you typed in.

Dstv remote not working on any blue dials? Two tv's in separate rooms, one pvr decoder. Only the red dial works on both tv's & both remotes are working & both tvs responding properly.

Is this a newly installed system? If both tv's are responding to the same remote setting (red in case), it means both tv's are set to the same channel. The tv that is connected to the decoder directly (via AV cables, I presume) is supposed to respond to if the remote is set to red. In order for the second tv to respond when the remote is set to blue, you need to tune the second tv until you find the picture of tv2 (the decoder transmits both tv1 and tv2 on the RF/coaxial output and it seems that your remote tv is tuned to tv1 instead of tv2).

Church has two tvs and we hook them up to our Macbook pro and use a progam called Mediashout to play lyrics. When we have both tvs connected through a splitterbox they blink green and the image trembles....

HDMI comunicates between the output device and the tv. The two components sync the comunication pulses. By conecting the second tv the pulses are out of sync. Somehow one tv must become Master. Is there a function on tv2 to turn off the sync puls? Maybe there is a device that will allow 2 tv's to connect to 1 device but it will be more than a splitter because it will have to sync. with the output device and then seperatly sync with two tv's. Good luck

When I change the channel on tv2, it also changes the channel on tv1. I have changed the address for tv2's remote, but it still changes tv1's channel.

Hi my nameis Mike Houston of DISH Network and I see your TV2 changes TV1 as well, thereis an easy fix to this problem. You will want to make sure the receiver is inDual Mode and then make sure the TV2 connection on the back of the receiver isin the right port. I will send a link to help with these steps, http://www.dishnetwork.com/SupportSection/same-video-2-tvs.I will leave my e-mail if you have any questions Michael.houston@dishnetwork.com.

Hi hartbettinaI see where your TV2 has a blue screen, there are a couple of things you can doyou can do. The first things you want to do is press the buttons of MENU-6-1-5and see if TV2 is set to channel 60 or 73 and make sure TV2 is on that channel.Once TV2 is on the channel on the Modular Setup page you will want to unplugthe receiver for 10 seconds and plug it back in and it will reset itself. No picture and the fan will not stop running,

Are you receiving no picture on TV1 or TV2?

If it is on TV1 you will want to verify your television is on channel 3 or 4. In some cases with the VIP receivers it may be 65 or 72 as well. I would also suggest going through the inputs on the receiver. Most tvs would list it as a "tv/video", "source", or "input". You'll also want to make sure all connections are tight and secure. At last resort you can try a hard reset by unplugging the receiver for 10 seconds.

It no picture is on TV2, you will want to confirm what channel the TV should be on by using TV1. On TV1 go to Menu then press 6-1-5 and change TV2 to the channel showing in "TV2 out".

With the fan running that is completely normal as the DVR function is always in use. It always has the capability to be paused and to use the rewind function so the fan is always cooling the hard drive.

With 2 tvs you set to record on 1 and it records on 2 instead?records on the opposite tv

Hello, Matthew Gonzales with DISH Network here. The default setting in our receivers are to automatically record everything onto TV2. You can change the setting by pressing menu-8- 5 (preferences-record plus), then you can either disable the feature, or set it to record onto TV1. If the feature is disabled, the show will record at whichever TV the timer is set up on. If it is set to TV1, all timers will attempt to record on TV1 (unless TV1 already has a recording going on it then it goes to TV2). Hope this helps.

Dish dvr 625 can't get dvd/vcr player to work with tv2..

if you have the coax hooked to the VCR in you will need to change the VCR channel to 22 and leave the TV itself tuned to 3 or 4.. I recommend setting the vcr to 60 or 73 to see if you can get reception on there as that is usually the two channels that TV2 is modulated on. You can check the modulation by going to TV1 and pressing menu-6-1-5 on the TV1 remote. Thanks for using Fix Ya. If I can be of further assistance please let me know.

Remote Sensor Problem

Given that both remotes work with TV2, more likely the IR sensor on TV1 is defective.
The problem could also be in the microprocessor itself as well.
