I purchased the TH42PZ80U on Nov 29, 2008. Found settings for the picture which is great but the speakers produce a background noise coordinated with the(mainly male) voice as they are talking. I have heard this noise from female voices also. Seem more prominant at times. I had talked to Panasonic techs and did what was recommended by them. Like by passing all components and providing a direct video source to the tv. At that time I noticed no audio distortion (daytime) over several channels. And reported back to the tech. But come evening with the original hook up again the noise. It's like wwww www wwww ww in the background matching every word that is spoken. Any ideas? Please help if you can. I didn't mean to write abook.
When you have this trouble is it on all channels? Are you using a cable box or satellite receiver, or running cable directly to the set? Do you notice the same problems if you use a different input source, say a DVD player?
Same Problem

-   I have noticed the same problem with my 42PZ80U. I didn't know how to explain it. My HD DirecTV PVR is hooked to the TV with an HDMI cable. I have two DVD players hooked (one Component, one Composite), and a VCR hooked to the the coax. Have you been able to find any solution?-   Maximus09

The tv is not reponding to the control straight away, the tv has a around a 5 sec delay and sometimes the tv does not respond at all. The tv then turns off and on and it runs ok, the problem comes back after about an hour, its been happening for a week now. I've changed batt on control and have used other control from other app, still the same issue. I think its the infra red receiver, what do you think and will this be expensive?

We have a 42" Panasonic Viera tv and there is a black box on the left edge that isn't on the right. When we play video games it hampers our sight of things on the right side of the screen.
