    hi lovetosmile....

    what os are you using?
have you tried re-installing the program?
have your settings somehow changed from opening and logging on when you boot to having to do it manually?

Yes the best thing to do here is uninstall any aol programs through the add/remove programs in the control panel. If you cannot uninstall there try to open the program folder either on the start menu or in the program files directory. Then re-install aol

I can no longer pull up and log in to facebook on my computer.

You may have a virus, malware, adware, a browser hijacker, or pups (potentially unwanted programs).

A. If your computer will boot and you can operate it ok...

Download and install Malwarebytes and Superantispyware (Note: If you can\'t do the download on your machine, do it on a friend\'s, put them on a thumb drive, and install them from it). Then scan your computer with each program, and quarantine anything found.

B. If your computer won\'t boot, or can\'t operate properly after boot...

Tap F8 when you are booting, select "Safe Mode With Networking". Download and install Malwarebytes and Superantispyware (Note: If you can\'t do the download on your machine, do it on a friend\'s, put them on a thumb drive, and install them from it). Then scan your computer with each program, and quarantine anything found.

C. If this process finds malware, to keep stuff like that from coming back, I recommend you get the paid version of Malwarebytes.

Good luck.

You have some viruses and malware.

Start your PC and press F8 several times until the boot menu comes up. Then select "Safe Mode with Networking". Now get some or ALL of the FREE programs below.

Download, Install and Run Malwarebytes Anti-Malware:
http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=5756
When Installing choose the non-pro version.

Download, Unzip, Install and Run TDSSKiller:
http://majorgeeks.com/Kaspersky_TDSSKiller_d6895.html

Download, Install and Run Super Anti-Spyware:
http://majorgeeks.com/SUPERAntiSpyware_d5116.html

If you have an outdated Anti-virus program then Download, Install and Run Avira Anti-Virus:
http://majorgeeks.com/Avira_AntiVir_Personal_-_FREE_Antivirus_d955.html
Make sure to select ALL of the "threat categories" when you install or configure Avira...

You should be in pretty good shape if you run and install all of these programs.

Can not log on

If you never entered a password it won't ask you for one when you log in. If you have forgotten the password of your user you can create a livecd from the following iso. Use the newly created disk to boot your machine you might have to set you bios to boot from the cd/dvd drive first or hit F8 to enter boot list menu watch your screen at startup to see what keys get you into the bios F2 and the boot menu. Then boot from the disc and crack your password. You will need another computer with a cd/dvd burner and a burner program. I recommend ImgBurn. Good Luck
PS I recommend making a password recovery disk once you get back in.

Hi, I have a Lenovo 300 C100 now forabout 18 months, with no problems up until now. The other night my service provider (AOl) sent a message informing that new software was needed to update my laptop...

Boot the computer into safe mode. Do this by hitting F8 repeatedly as the computer boots up, and when you see the menu, select "Safe Mode".

Once windows is up, uninstall AOL via Control Panel->Add Remove Programs.

Hopefully now when you reboot again your computer will boot up normally and won't crash. Then you can try and reinstall the earlier working version of AOL.
