Same exact thing happening to me. Not only with 2nd controller either. This happens with every controller I use. Whatever it is, I know its related to the game. Not the system or controllers.

I think i know what your talkin about. You must change the controls to your desired option by pausing, clicking options, then controls, and then navigate through the different contols and find your desired option because if your using a certain control while its set on something else, your vehicle will go haywire.

If it is a one player game the wii disconnects other controllers to save battery. Some games say 2 player but in the fine print you learn that it is only online (with other wiis)

Well, I don't use the Wii wheel. I played with the gba and Game Cube controller. So I recommend to try using the nunchuk in your races. Play Wii play to test your wii remote's pointing and twisting ability's

Steering on monster 4x4 world circuit

the controls are VERY sensitive for this game.
But for the "circual driveng no matter what" is more like a problem with the wheel itself rather than the game.
I suggest returning the wheel and buying a new one or simply not using it and playing with just the Wii-mote itself.

I hope this helps!
