I had the same problem. What I did : I placed a thicker paper in the tray and when the scanner starts pulling the sheet, push the paper a bit forward so it will remove any debris that may causing the problem. It worked for me. Try a few times. Hope it helps you.

Hello Meg,
To troubleshoot your scanner issue, yuo are advised to perform the steps provided below:
1.Remove all documents from the ADF paper chute.

2. Have the documents been jogged?
• Align the edge of documents for stable paper feeding.
• Remove documents with crease or dog-ear.
• Scanning different width of documents may cause skew and result in paper jam.
3. Are Chuter Unit (ADF paper chute),Guide P ASSY (Sheet guide), Feed roller cover (plate guide) and Brake roller cover installed correctly?
4. Clean the Feed rollers, Eject rollers,Plastic rollers, glass surface and paper feeding surface, and see if the error is resolved.

My printer HP Deskjet 1051 says there is a paper jam but no paper jam present

Use a flashlight to examine as much of the paper path as you can see. There may be a shred of paper left over from an earlier jam. There might be some foreign object such as a paper clip stuck inside.

I have a Fujitsu 4220c2 scanner and when scanning multiple documents it'll take one half half/quarter way through and get stuck. The pick roller and pad assembly have been replaced. What could be causing...

Hi,
Thank you for contacting Fixya.
This error is detected when one of the followings occurs: (TWAIN Error-Paper jammed in the ADF - Code DS32002), Scanner panel error-U1
1) A document does not reach the TOP sensor while the scanner has transported the document about 250 mm to pick. (The scanner performs retry operation.) 2) The trailing edge of a document does not reach the TOP sensor after the scanner transports the document by the length (L) below. (The document may have slipped on the rollers) Check the followings: 1.Scan condition - Transported length (L) before jam 2.ADF fixed size - scanning Approximately 450 mm 3.Long paper scanning -1.2 times of the specified value
If the imprinter is installed, paper jam can occur in the following case. If the scanner starts scanning when the imprinter cable (EXT cable) is not connected to the scanner, it does not rotate the imprinter, since it recognizes the imprinter not installed, which results in paper jam in the imprinter section.
Solution:
Remove the jammed document and close the ADF. When the error frequently occurs, refer to the followings:
1. Do the documents satisfy paper specification? Please read the operator guide for paper specification. 2. Have the documents been jogged? • Align the edge of documents for stable paper feeding. • Remove documents with crease or dog-ear. • Scanning different width of documents may cause skew and result in paper jam. 3. Is the Imprinter EXT cable correctly connected to the scanner? Check the cables. (only when the Imprinter is installed) 4. Clean rollers in ADF and Imprinter and see if the error is removed. (only when the Imprinter is installed) 5. Replace Pick roller and Pad ASY and see if the error is removed. Check the consumable counter from the TWAIN driver screen. When the counter exceeds the values shown, replace Pick roller or Pad ASY.
If the above do not help, then the issue could be caused by the followings:
6. Malfunction of TOP sensor. 7. Malfunction of Cover open sensor. 8. Faulty Scanner Control PCA.
If Imprinter is installed, then the issue could be caused by the followings:
1. Malfunction of Sensor OPB5 lever (only when the Imprinter is installed). 2. Malfunction of Motor LF if the imprinter roller does not rotate.(only when the Imprinter is installed). 3. Faulty Imprinter Control PCA. (only when the Imprinter is installed).
Hope the above information is helpful. Please revert if you have any doubt.
Regards,

Paper jam message is showing but nothing is jammed in scanner and it will not pull the paper through

Hi

Does the message shows after few pages scanning or is there any panel error message like J-1 on scanner start up?

If the issue occurs during scanner start up, then there are staple pins or dirt might be stuck inside the US Sensor panel inside the scanner. Cleaning and removing the objects will resolve the issue.

If the error occurs after few pages scanning, then you may have to check the Pick Roller, Brake Roller, Pinch Roller and US Sensor FX status. you may have to replace any of the above, if damaged or worn off.

Hope the above info is helpful.

Please check your device first and get back to me.

Thank you.

Paper Jams - Multiple Pages Pulled - New Rollers Installed

If you have de-stapled papers, the papers may still be held together where it was stapled. Fan the papers before feeding, Check if the '******' roller (the light brown bottom roller) is clean.

I removed a stuck piece of paper. Subsequent paper is pulled in and then is pulled sideways and then gets stuck. I have looked for more stuck paper and can not find anything. I replace the top roller...

The paper skews either because there is obstruction in the paper path in one side or the roller/counter rollers are not exerting even pressure on the paper. You need to check this.

HP scanjet 5590 pulls the paper half the way in and then starts pulling sideways and then gets stuck.

Have you checked to make sure there isn't previously jammed paper in the feeder?

It sounds like the paper is getting stuck on just one side which is causing the paper to start going sideways.

Trouble with paper feed

Frequent jams are because either scanner picks up more than one paper or does not pickup at all. If scanner picks up more than one paper, then paper is sticky. If the paper is thin, it can pick up two at a time. Fan the papers so that they are not sticky.

Paper at the point of entry into the scanner must be crisp. If folded or 'dog-eared' trim it. Rotate the paper if any other side is crisp, roate the image later.

Clean all the rollers thoroughly, the pickup roller, retard roller and other rollers in the scanner. One can rotate the inner rollers and clean totally, not just waht is seeable area. If the rubber is worn out, it must be replaced. TRy a single page to check if the rubber is okay. Jarring noise is because the motor is 'stopped' and cant rotate because paper is stuck. This can affect motor/inner parts, but is designed for normal use.
