it can be a ruff one,so my first advice is be patient with yourself.when you take the door gasket/or door boot off the front face of the washer,it will then hang loose ,but its still attached by a big clamp at the will loosen that clamp and then pull out the old to install new.lossen up your clamp abit more so can work easy inside cabinet.ther is a notch at the top of the new door boot and the mate for that notch on the tub[top] .you will use your fingers to check that periodically to make sure your in the right i work from the inside of the tub boot pushing outward to get the boot over the tub piece.starting at the top and working my way down.[it may take a few tries.somtimes i take it out and start over.amd theres two ways to work the inner is after the boot is on try to work the clamp over the boot onto the tub mounting area.[thats hard for me]or i put the clamp on where its going tobe from the start and work it from install the out side clamp,or spring you will place it on the out side grove of the gasket ,then i will use pliers or vice gripes to stretch the spring till it gets in place.

The following link explains the steps required to replace the door bellow on a Whirlpool Duet:

Read through the link thoroughly. An alternate method is to remove the washer top panel and work from the top and through the door. The method I mention, offers the best unobstructed access. The placement of the wire hoop is mentioned in step 12. If you have questions, or require additional assistance please let me know.

Can the metal ring that retains the rubber door seal be replaced by a simple wire?

Hi,I have replaced these rubber seals, the front ring shouldnt give you much trouble its the inner one thats the pain,I woulnt use wire as the one thats on it is sprung loaded.
Ive also had to replace the door latch on a washing machine, what I did was take the top off and reach inside, maybe thats an option,or the other way is to put the machine on its side and go in through the bottom.
I hope this was some help, all the best.

The door gasket is twisted, how do I fix it?

There is a metal retainer with a spring on the outside of the door around the seal remove that and re-form the seal around to door panel and secure with retaining spring. If this doesn't help you will have to replace the seal.

theres a metal retaining ring that goes around the outside of the boot aka flexible gasket make sure that it is properly seated also u could have a pin hole in that gasket and have it leaking on your floor. You might want to just replace the boot rather then using a magnifying glass to look for the hole

Hello, my axxis washer gets mold build up on the rubber gasket at the door. i have ordered a new one but do not feel the need to pay $200.00 for the install. can i get instructions to install on my own. i...

Um...have fun. I have replaced two of them.

the way to keep the mold from growing in the future is to leave the door open so that you don't create that closed moist environment.

About the easist way to replace/change is to remove the front of the washer (I have completed w/o doing that but took a bit longer).

Make sure you keep an eye on how the old one comes off as some of them have drain pipes connected.

To remove:
There is a metal ring with a spring attached, simply streatch spring a bit at bottom of door and it should come right off. Do the same for the inside seal, that spring is at the top.

To install:

put the metal ring inside the grove of the gasket, then align gasket on the front. Pick an edge to start working around as you get closer to the top (I pick the lower right hand side to start working around. Make sure that your spring part of the metal ring is at the top where the one you replace was at.) once you get to a point you need to stretch the spring, this is where I use an 90 degree or more pick tool to get into the end of the spring. You need to make sure that you have the seal tight. Start pulling on the spring to stretching it so that can put the rest on. (You need to keep tension on the gasket so that the metal ring does not slide.)

Now to the front.

Just make sure that the spring part is at the bottom. When you took the otherone off, it was at the bottom. It has to go there as there is a groove. Once you get the metal part around the gasket push a bit on the spring and make sure it is in that goove.

To test, open and close your washer door a couple times. At first gently.

Hope this helps as they are a pain in the rear.

Also, here is a nice parts place for all your Bosch parts.

The gasket was only about $75 to my door.

Metal ring aroound rubber seal fell off.

Start with the spring at the bottom, work the retainer around until the seal starts to pull away from the washer. Now grip the loop that the spring attaches to on the side that isn't in place and open the retainer. Push the retainer in place and release the spring.
