Question about LG WD-3243RHD Front Load Washer / Dryer

1 Answer

LG WD-324RHD stops at 6 minutes left in drying

I've moved into a new apartment, with this washer/dryer combo.  The problem I am having is that on a normal cycle it will be drying and once it hits the "6 minutes left" in the count-down, it freezes.
What I mean is that it keeps drying...but stops counting.  Stuck eternally at "6 minutes left".  So I have to cut it off, and put it through a spin cycle just to get my clothes back!
How do I get it to stop freezing at 6 minutes??

Well, this is a washer/dryer combo.  It washes and dries in the same unit; same drum.  It is as if a washer and dryer had a baby, this is what it would be!

My problem is that the timer counting down on the drying time stops at 6 minutes.  So when I cut it off then cut it back on, it won't open the door because it thinks it needs to finish drying/cycling/whatever (a feature of the machine).  The only way I can get it to open is to start a spin cycle (again, since this is a washer/dryer combo it's all in the same place).  It spins for 7 minutes, finishes, and lets me open the door.

I don't have a problem with the washing timer, or the spin cycle timer- it's just when it's counting down on the drying time does it freeze.  Which is really confusing, since it's the SAME TIMER, it counts down on everything- yet it freezes on drying time?

Does that help clarify my problem at all...?

Your timer has gone bad and you need to replace the time. Best bet is to get a Technician out there but you can do it yoursel. It is behind the face plate where it counts down the time

WD 9900 does not dry

Most all dryers, including combo washer/dryers, have an electric wire coil for a heating element.
I suspect yours has given up ( they usually break in two, stopping the electrical flow). You should need to have the element replaced.
Going to need to take the whole machine apart to fix this.
Be blessed.

How do i do drying only

From the document I see, it is only a matter of pressing the "Dry" button. This is from the manual, available at http://www.lg.com/us/appliances/washer-dryer-combos/LG-WM3431HW.jsp and selecting the "Support" tab. On the right, there will be a "Washer/Dryer Combos Manual" link, which will download to your computer. Listed under "Dry" in Section 9 is the following.
• Drying options are easily selected with the Dry button. • For most even drying , make sure all articles in the clothes load are similar in material and thickness. • Do not overload dryer by stuffing too many articles into drum. Items must be able to tumble freely • If you open door and remove load before dryer has finished its cycle, remember to press the Start/Pause button. • By pressing the Dry button, you can select "Normal" - "More" - "Time" - "Off" - "Low Temp" - "Less" • Your dryer can handle a load of up to 9 lbs. (4 kg) dry weight of articles. • When drying cycle is completed, [Cd] (Cool Down) is displayed on the Multi display. • Cool Down is set automatically when the drying cycle is complete. • If clothes are not removed promptly when the drying cycle ends, wrinkles can form. • The Cool Down feature periodically tumbles, rearranges and fluffs the load to avoid wrinkles for up to 4 hours. • The message [Cd] will continue to display until the clothes are removed or the Start/Pause button is pressed
Hope this solves your problem. I highly recommend downloading the users manual, it is a wealth of information and will prove useful in many circumstances.

The tub moves to freely and bangs on the washer sides

The tub shouldn't bang on the inside of the washer cabinet, as you already know. That is not a "normal" way for it to fail. Rather, I suspect something else. First try this: If you have your washer right next to your dryer, the washer itself is probably banging against the dryer during specific times during the wash - but most likely during the spin cycle. If you spread them apart a little bit - or stuff a towel or two between them, you may find that it stops banging. The washer may also be hitting something other the dry, too. Check all around the washer - try to keep and inch or two between it and anything else. If it still is banging - then something else is causing it.

Good luck!

My aged invalid mother has a front loading LG washer dryer combo and has washed the same garment 3 times and after wash cycle or drying cycle can't seem to get the door to open to remove the clothes. What...

Hi I hope you solved this by now but I thought an answer might be useful if anyone else has the same question. I am not an expert just an owner of a LG WD-1412RD. It sounds like your mum is not aware this is just the normal safety cool down period following drying (as the stainless steel interior gets very hot during drying). The Door lock sign (small red light) is on, and the display shows Cd during this time, then it beeps and the door unlocks by itself. If you need to remove your laundry earlier than this, you can press the START/PAUSE button to end the cycle (it still takes a couple of minutes). This is covered on p 21 - 22 of the owners manual. which can be downloaded from the LG site. http://www.lg.com/au/support/product/support-product-profile.jsp?customerModelCode=WD-1412RD&matchedModelCode=NOT_MATCHED&searchEngineModelCode=WD-1412RD&initialTab=documents&targetPage=support-product-profile#

I can't turn on SpinSense on my LG WM3987HW combo washer-dryer. I've tried pressing the button for 3 seconds in nearly every mode, on or off, locked, unlocked, wash, spin, rinse. I've managed to get it on...

I have an earlier version of your machine (WM3988HWA). What I've found is that you can't use the Spinsense feature if you've got the Dry cycle set to go after your wash. I have no idea why they designed it this way!
We run the wash first without setting it to dry, and have no problem turning Spinsense on. I usually hold it down for 3 second after hitting the start button, but you can also do it before you start the wash. When the wash is done, then we start a dry cycle.
This is the main flaw with our otherwise great machine. I posted about it at http://www.fixya.com/ThreadAsker.aspx?thid=1844295 a long time ago but never got any advice.

I have a similar problem with my LG WD-3245RHD. I had a repairman come out to look at it and he said I needed a new circuit/control board. I have not been able to locate this replacement part to date. RepairClinic.com has one listed, but it is not in stock.

My Lg WD-3274RHD after a load is complete It fills with water again? If left ovder night water will run out the door.

I have same problem with my washer/dryer combo. It took me quite some time to figure out what is going on.Did all electrical checks ,everything was fine and worst thing it was intermittent thing ,it would do it 8 out of 10 times. Found cold water inlet valve assembly to be faulty (mechanical problem with middle valve) . Second time in 6 years ,other than that I'm very happy with that combo.Problem now is to get new valve, because it is not available anymore from LG, so I'm digging through internet to see if anybody has it somewhere. Good luck

. I have a LG WD12126RD front load washer dryer

This is a heater error. The heater element is open and not working. This is usually the problem but it could be other things also. You need a service call from an LG tech.
