Is there a connector for water line at bottom of door?

A friend of mine bought a side by side kenmore refrigerator and when the movers delivered it they had to remove the doors. At the bottom of the ice maker side door, the water line is disconnected or they cut it to get the door off....not sure. Is there a connector that we can buy to connect the water line again?

Depending how old the box is there should be a,i call it chinese hand cuff connector.most of the time its a gray may have to look well under there.other wise what you do is cut off a small piece of the tube you what to connect[its a 1/4 ''or 5/16 but if you take a piece with you, you ll be sure],about an inch and go too the hardware store and buy an union to join the two pieces together[it will be a brass union, but you use nylon pheruals[i spelled this word wrong and spell check cant fix it for me,but the people at the hardware store will know what to give you] so wont cut the tu-being. i hope that helps a bit God bless ,tom

Why my refrigerator /freezer is leaking water from the bottom front near freezer and water builds up in the bottom of the freezer?

The leak is probably from the small PVC water line leading to the freezer door ice/water dispenser. Manufacturers put a small plastic joiner at that point to allow removal of the door for shipping and installation. That tiny connector can become easily disconnected and leak water onto the floor every time someone presses the water valve in the dispenser. It's easy to fix, Lowes and Home Depot have the fix-it kit for about $5, but you will probably find the existing joiner parts already attached but only needing to be rejoined.

I'll attach a photo of the Home Depot kit. you can also order it from Amazon and have it delivered right to your mailbox. Search for a "refrigerator door water line connector" and you should see a GE part number WR02X11330.

I bought a new water selinoid Valve, hucked it up and the water does not stop at the door. I'm sure I have the lines screwed up BUT what it the correct way, Got a water line diagram??

The problem may not be the value , look under the front of the fridge remove long cover on bottom, you should see the water line that goes into the freezer door and a connector. Disconnect the water line, should be a quick connect and have a cup ready to check the water line and value, place water line from under fridge into the cup and press the switch on freezer door asking for water if water comes out of the water line then the value is opening and you have a frozen line in the door. Please get back with more info, good luck.

Nasty tasting ice cubes

Change the supply line to the plastic tube line or copper. Do not use a braided plastic or metal braided line these will make the water taste bad. Changed mine to the plastic line and cured mine, no filters needed.

Water running out of tube from fridge into bottom of freezer door that leads up to water dispenser ?

Is the water leaking from the bottom of the freezer door ? ( new door ) line is not replaceable inside the door .
Is the water leaking from the tubing at the connector ( about 6" from the bottom of the freezer door ) ( remove both lines from the connector , cut off about 1" of each tube and reinstall into the connector )
To access , remove the kickplate by either removing 1 screw on each side or just pull off ( held on by clips ) .

My brother moved and the movers removed the side by side doors

The dispenser assembly comes apart from the front. It should give you access to the waterline as it comes up from the bottom.

Kenmore side by side: ice maker

Probably a broken plastic tube from the solenoid valve to the water outlet tube. It will stay dry until you try to get water then it may take a few days to dry out.

Good Luck,

Replacing water line in freezer side door

Yes as I stated on other posts, go to an appliance shop and get a threaded connector. Mine cost about $7 and i had to do some minor adjustment cutting to the plastic guard at the bottom of fridge/ the new piece would not put too much pressure on the line. The white coupling connector on the line u will see has a red and blue washer conected on eitrher side of water line. To disconnect line ..just push in on top of washer and pull line. Cut the torn lines so u at least have a line that is clean and mostly straight, but dont cut TOO MUCH!! just the bare edge, about 1/8 " inch. Use some needle nose pliers ,real small ones.. to pull the line from bottom of door and apply connector. Put lines back on and do faceplate and check for leaks. Good luck!!

Kenmore coldspot freezer door water line

I had the same problem and I would like to replace the whole line inside the door, it was best to get a double sided connector from an appliance parts store. The part cost me about 7 bucks. I then had to So far so good and when cut a small piece out of the front guard where the connector goes. you take off the front guard, measure where the tube broke. The connector comes off when you push one side down.Cut the edge of tube to have a straight edge, but just a little at a time. Just a clean straight edge, it does not have to be perfect!! I used a small pair of needle nose pliers to pull the bit of hose down from the freezer side and then i used my connectors. It just takes a little time and effort. Let me know what happens!!
