If you delete your Yahoo! Mail account, you also lose your My Yahoo! settings, your Hotjobs profile and other data in services belonging to the Yahoo! empire. If you are paying for any Yahoo! subscription services such as Yahoo! Mail Plus, it is probably best to cancel these first to avoid unexpected payments. Also be aware that people will still be able to send messages to your closed Yahoo! Mail account for 90 days without getting a delivery error while you cannot log in to your account to see them. So make sure you tell all your friends and contacts when you are about to terminate your Yahoo! Mail account.
Delete Your Yahoo! Mail Account
To delete your Yahoo! Mail or Yahoo! Mail Classic account:
It's possible your email account has been hacked but you will need to contact Yahoo! support services to find the problem.
You might set up a 'throw-away' account to warn close friends and family not to open any emails from the Yahoo! account until you let them know it is safe.
Hacked accounts are often used to send out viruses to everyone in your address/contact list.
Go here: https://edit.yahoo.com/config/delete_use... Follow the prompts to close out your account. Please be sure to read all warnings very carefully during the account deletion process. Once you've terminated your account, you'll lose access to it and all of your stored information will be lost.
Hi, I had this same problem and it took a while to sort out but I did eventually get the account back.
Try emailing yahoo and tell them as much information about the account and about when you stopped going into the account. I was able to tell them about how long it had been and I reminded them the account had no activity since then - I was close enough they resent the account. I did lose all my stored information tho. Sadly they are free accounts and Yahoo doesn't invest much in keep people happy who have them. I use G mail - Google mail is good anywhere and they respond better to problems.
This is absolutely a fake mail / hacking. Please don't provide any information if anybody especially ask your password and alternative id etc. Ignore such mails to protect your details. (if this solution find helpful to you please rate it)
hey this is just a warning .... it doesnt mean that someone else is using your account..not only your account will get that warning..it is default for every use ...dont panic ..nothing will happen .... for changing the password , go to yahoo settings and type your new password and confirm it , satisfying the default rules for creating yahoo password..
Why would Yahoo, which already controls your account, be asking for your password?
There's a link in here that tells you how to report your fake e-mail: http://security.yahoo.com/article.html;_ylc=X3oDMTFhOWJhMGZmBF9TAzU2NTAwMDAwMgRhaWQDMjAwNjEwMjYwMwRjbmFtZQNmZWF0dXJlZA--?aid=2006102603
