No pictue (black screen), but still get audio

i have a relysis 50 inch plasma t.v., which i bought 6 months ago, (ex demo., no warranty). recently on a few occasions, the screen went "dead". when i switched off, then back on, the picture returned. however not at the last attempt. had a local repair man, who qouted £230. would i be able to source a part for repair?. is the qoute fair or excessive?
