How to you connect PS3 to to model 37PD5000

Good day!!!

Please try this procedure to connect the PS3 to TV..

The PS3 has a Blu-ray drive that can be used not only for playing games but also for watching high-definition movies. The best way to connect a PS3 to a high-definition viewing device such as a video projector is through the PS3's high-definition multimedia interface (HDMI) output. The HDMI connection can transmit up to 1080p high-definition from the PS3 to the video projector using a single cable. Attaching and setting up the HDMI cable will only take a few minutes and will let you watch high-definition video from the PS3 on the video projector.

  1. Connecting HDMI
    • Attach one end of the HDMI cable to the HDMI output connector of the PS3. Turn the HDMI cable around if it does not slip right into the HDMI output, because the HDMI cable can only fit into an HDMI connector one way.
Attach the other end of the HDMI cable to the HDMI input connector that is on the video projector. Make sure both sides of the HDMI cable is securely pushed into the connectors of the PS3 and of the video projector. Turn on the video projector. Press the "Menu" button on the video projector's remote. Navigate to the "Sources" setting on the video projector's Menu. Select "HDMI" from the "Sources" setting. Press the "Menu" button on the remote control again to exit the Menu.
    Adjusting the PS3
    • Turn on the PS3. Wait for the "Home" menu to appear on the video projector, although the quality of the video seen from the video projector will be muddied and dark. Navigate from the "Home" menu to the "Systems" icon using the game controller and select the "Display Settings" tab. Choose "Video Output Settings" from the list presented in the screen that appears. Press the right side of the directional pad on the game controller to move to the next screen.
Choose "HDMI" from the list presented in the screen that appears. Press the right side of the directional pad on the game controller to move to the next screen. Choose "Automatic" from the list presented in the screen that appears. Press the right side of the directional pad on the game controller to move to the "Confirmation" screen. Press the "X" button on the game controller to make the settings active. Return to the PS3's "Home" menu.
    Watching the PS3
    • Insert a Blu-ray disc into the slot at the front of the PS3. Wait as the Blu-ray disc begins to play the video content on the video projector from the PS3 through the HDMI cable.

Please don't forget to rate my answer...I really appreciate any ratings you done..

Thanks for using fixya..

Hi,

All you have to do is reset the video settings on the PS3. Hold down the power button until you hear a single beep, then press it again.

That should have reset the video settings so you can play on the new TV.

II can't seem to get my dvd player to play on this T.V. can't find the right channel

Hello siguy6027 if you have a flat screen TV then you dont use a specific channel for operation of a attached device. you can access it by selecting the right source button. if you at the back, front, or where ever your device is attached to the TV and it should give itself a label like "video 1" or "HDMI 1". Find the label and go to the correct source on your TV by pushing either the source button on your TV or on your TV remote. Please Rate

Its turns on but theres no video or sound

first you have to double check if all the cables are well plugged, both to the console and the TV.are you using an hdmi cable? if so, please try to switch to the hdmi channel on your tv, using the tv remote. there's a button on it that is used to cycle the external video inputs, you just have to locate it and press few times until you'll see the PS3 image on the screen.

Ive had the same problem with mine. I have a universal remote and a blu ray player separately installed on my tv. The only way i was able to play the ps3 without calling geek squad to reconfigure my tv was to unplug the blu ray and put the ps3 in its spot and push watch bluray. It worked great.

how is it connected to the tv? does your tv auto switch channels? if not try manually switching inputs with your tv remote (ext1, ext2, scart, hdmi etc etc) you say you connected to tv put in a disc right away? did you set up your console first? (of course point one about the display needs to be resolved before set-up can take place)

example if you are connected to your tv with an HDMI cable and your tv does not detect and then switch to your HDMI input.. use tv remote and repeatadly press button (maybe called source on your remote maybe something else) untill the input is switched to HDMI

Picture wont show up

Make sure you have set your tv to the right channel or video mode.

Examples
  • HDMI televisions usually have several HDMI ports and can be accessed via HDMI-1, HDMI-2, and so on.
  • Regular AV usually has a game channel/video mode you can access from the menu or the button itself on your remote.

Please let me know if this helps. Good luck!
