The rinse pump is not turning on at all. I am helping a friend with this, it is not my machine. The rinse aid bottle is partly used, so I am sure that it just quit. I am not sure about the icon.

  • John Medicraft Feb 18, 2009

The rinse icon is on. I already checked the motor and it is alright. Thanks for the help

  • John Medicraft Feb 24, 2009

You wrote that the chemical board is not sensing the rinse agent. Is the board bad or is there something else I should be checking?

  • John Medicraft Mar 25, 2009

There are three different circuit boards on this machine. There is the main board, a relay board, and a board that the detergent and rinse agent flow through. The rinse agent does not turn on at all. The rinse icon is on, but the pump is not turning on. The pump motor tests out all right. The relay board was switched as it had an obvious problem. The probe that was making it flash P2 was also switched out. That leaves the main board and the chemical board. Are you familiar with Hobart and and sure that it is the main board, as we are talking hundreds of dollars.

You need to test if there is voltage to rinse pump from timer/control panel. Assuming that pump is already tested, if there is voltage from panel on rinse cycle, and the pump does not have voltage , then replace wiring harness.
If there is no volts from panel, when reading timer board connectors with a multimeter, then replace control assembly.
If the pump does not work when energised , then replace pump.

The most common problem in these newer dishwasher's is the control board fails, they have a small computer that runs the functions, replace the main circuit board and it will most likely correct the problem.

I would have replaced the relay board, that is where the issue usually is.

I have Hobard LXIH dishwasher, it is working OK but during rinse cycle instead of taking in rinse agent it is actually fill rinse bottle back with water. Rinse pump is working, it was replaced in June

Check the rinse pump. The tubing needs to come from the supply into the bottom of the pump, and the pump should be running clockwise. If the pump tube is worn, the rinse pressure will blow through the pump filling the bottle

I put rinse aid in but it seems to not be working or at least it keeps showing that it is full and it doesnt go down? Also it seems that there is always detergent left in the slots after it gets done...

Hello,

The rinse agent dispenser holds up to 8 ounces of rinse agent and only 2-3 small teardrop sized drops are added in the rinse cycle ,thats all it takes per cycle so a full dispenser could take 2-6 months to become empty depending on how often ya run the dishwasher.
As far as some detergent remaining, check the filter in the bottom of the tub for some blockage,if the water cant spray forcefully because its hard getting into the pump from filter blockage it cant wash that well

I hope this helps

White film left on the dishes after going through the dishwasher. Why?

Too much rinse agent. If you are using powder or gel, set pointer knob on rinse agent dispenser to a lower setting. If you were using the tablets, they have rinse agent built into them, and the additional rinse agent from the dispenser equals a double dose, so the film shows up. Stop using tablets until liquid rinse agent dispenser is empty.

I have a kenmore dishwasher 66515889000, 8 years old. The rinse agent is not working. It seems to be clogged somemwhere. My husband took the stopper out to see if there was a clog. Think there is a clog...

Hi,
this may not solve the cause of the problem, but may by-pass it:
can you try to use pucks with the rinsing agent already included in it ?
I ask this because we had water remaining on the dishes, and realized we had not filled the rinse agent reservoir for a while, and also had stopped using pucks which contained some rinse agent already. There was water streaking down on the front door under the vent opening. I almost dismantled the door unnecessarily until I realized that the problem was caused by lack of rinse agent (none in reservoir and none in pucks). I know they say you should test if the vent fan motor works, but it is so quiet that you can’t tell for sure. So I would try to ensure that there is rinse agent present during wash by using the detergent that contains some. Cleaning the reservoir and its tubing (I.e.: dismantling the door...) should be a last resort.

Fisher Paykel dishwasher drawer won't stop.

Let's go to diagnostic test mode to see if you can retrieve the the actuator hence the tube out.
1- Press Lock button and start/pause key until the display showing up.
2- Press Power to show HO.
3- Press start button to advance the display until you see P2 for draining, if you pass, keep doing it to get it back in a loop.
4- When at P2, press lock to turn on, press a again to turn off.
5- Listen to the sound of the pump. If you hear nothing that means the pump is dead or stuck.
6- The Motor has 2 directions: one for, Rinse and one for Drain. When you done with the diagnostic, press the power button to get out of the mode.
7- If this is the case, unplug the power then remove the rack, the bottom stanless steel plate with holes then take out the rotor to clean up. It is a good design the stator is outside of the tube, so you don't have to worry too much about the complication.
8- Make a note of all the positions so you can put them back the same as they were. Good luck

Where do I add my rinse agent???

Hello,

I have the same dishwasher, KUDS01FLSS. All you need to do is pour the rinse agent (We use Jet Dry) directly into that circle like plug with the line through it that you mentioned above. It acts like a funnel.
Pour the rinse agent in slowly as it takes time to drain into the dispenser. Just watch the little sight glass to the right of the rinse agent fill funnel. It will begin to darken (or turn blue if you use Jet Dry) as the dispenser starts to get full. I just pour it in slowly and when the rinse agent does not flow down the funnel any longer, it is full. Be sure to wipe up any spills or excess rinse agent. Hope this helps you.

Good Luck,
Tom
