Question about Whirlpool LTE5243D Top Load Stacked Washer/Dryer

Thin Twin washer/dryer incomplete warm wash cycle

When you start the washer on the WARM/COLD setting, the basket will fill quickly, as you'd expect. After it completes the first wash/drain cycle is when the problem comes on. At this point the cycle seems to get stuck or something--water should be refilling the basket for the final rinse, but that doesn't happen. The machine makes a low, constant noise that would, seemingly, go on forever, but I've figured out a way to bypass the hiccup by stopping the cycle and advancing the timer/wash selector forward a few clicks, then pulling the knob back out to restart. It will complete the wash cycle then, but the basket won't refill completely doing it this way. (BTW, this is using the REGULAR/HEAVY wash cycle only; I haven't tried other cycles.) So it seems that the problem is in the timing--that low noise I mentioned sounds almost like a timer clicking/humming away. Perhaps the timer isn't advancing enough to actuate the basket-filling function?

At first I thought it was a problem or blockage in the incoming water lines because the water comes in shudders and spurts (in other words, not a constant, steady flow), but after trying different water temp settings everything worked as you'd expect. I also pulled the machine out to check the lines and everything seemed to be fine.
Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks!

Hi I am buying a MW512 but only have a cold water supply, does this model have an internal heating system so I can do a warm or hot wash?

Hi - Fisher & Paykels does not come with heaters fitted, the two hot/cold inlets are used in prortion to the settings of the wash cycle in use.

So with a cold tap only you would expect cold wash functions only, if you accidently chose a warm wash the machine will start beeping as there is nothing to bring the temp level to the expected setting.

Hope this helps you choose..

My Maytag Neptune will not go into the spin cycle, instead the letters "nf " come on the display. What can I do to prevent this and to have the cycle completed?

Bonnie,

NF = No Fill the control board receives signaling for the washer during the water fill cycle. With most cycles the depth of water is around 3.5 inches in the wash basket. I know a Bulky Wash cycle selection will fill the wash tub to a high fill which is about 7.5 inches of water in the wash basket.

Is the washer filling the machine with any water? Do you hear water entering the machine? If you are doing a cold water fill and there is no or very little water in the wash basket with the NF error code. Try a Warm or Hot fill and see if the machine will fill and start the wash cycle.

Assuming you are doing cold water wash loads. You could have a water line block at the inlet screen or a failed cold water inlet valve which will not open. Try the above and let me know the results..........Rich

My neptune TL stops at 11 minutes and flashes "nf"

mattscott;
My comments are based on the FAV6800A/FAV9800A.
NF = No Fill. Your machine has reached a Control Board internal timer and has not seen proper signaling from the Pressure Switch for expected water fill for the wash cycle selected.
Possible fail points.
1. Pressure Switch is not signaling for properly tor water fill.
2. Water inlet valve is restricted or not functioning.
Please confirm your machine model number is it a FAV6800A or FAV9800A? I’m going to assume your machine model is a one of those models. Here is a link for the FAV6800A/FAV9800A Service Manual.
If you can let me know how much water is in the wash basket when your Control Board triggers the no fill error “NF” to the display? I would prefer you select Quick Wash cycle with minimal machine settings for the water fill. Do you have the issue with a cold temp select fill, a warm/hot temp select fill?
If you want to DIY I would suggest you become familiar with how to get in Service Mode. We may need to go to page 16 of the SM and possible check for correct Pressure Switch transitions in Board Functional Test Input Control Keys.

We will continue after your feedback…..Rich

Water not filling on washer

the inlet filter is probably clogged restricted and/or inhibited flow of water into your machine.
These things happen, and cleaning out the filter is a good first step to finding the problem.

How can I fix my whirlpool thin twin washer?

It almost sounds like your motor is kicking out on overload. The fact that it starts agitating after the fill can rule out the pressure switch. You have installed a new timer so we should be able to rule that out. It's possible that your pump is binding, which is attached directly to your motor and causing it to overheat. To tell for sure you would have to check the motor to see if it's getting power when it cuts out. Check your terminal block where the power cord comes in to see if all connections are secure. Other possibilities could be the clutch and brake assy. With out being there too see the problem, this is where I would start.
