Mystery Gift Menu Option Disappeared

I erased my saved game in Diamond to start over. Unfortuanately, now I no longer have the Mystery Gift Option in the Main Menu. Any clue on how to fix or what at least happened?

Mystery gift has to be re-activated now that you started a new game. It does not stay if the game is erased.

Reconfigure your wireless settings in the pokemon game *where you select new game or continue*.
