Issues with Fixya chat?

I have tried assisting through the chat twice and once I couldn't see the customers response on my end and the next time while chatting the window closed by itself.This is certainly leading to a bad customer experience even if the resolution is later given adding comments.Plz help and point to the possible causes. coz other wise in the regular provide assistance option I don't face any such technical issue and it doesn't happen with any of my chat utilities installed on my system. please help.

    I have installed safari to see if its a browser related issue and made itmy default browser but still when the fixya utility pops up the chat alert it picks IE while if I open any website it comes up on safari. I have tried other browsers too like Opera, Firefox even Google Chrome but those have become very slow which is not the issue when I use IE.Any other suggestion.

    For IE7 version is 7.0.5730.13 where I face the problem only with Fixya chat no issues if I use Gtalk with in the browser in iGoogle.

    Besides I have

    Opera 9.63

    Mozilla Firefox 3.0.6

    Google Chrome(Beta Version)

    These I have uninstalled and don't prefer using at the time coz for some reason they don't letme browse faster as compared to IE7 Opera was working fine till I installed Kaspersky Antivirus 2009

    Now I have changed to Norton Antivirus 2009 as that is light on the system and takes less space.

    Presently after I had this issue I have downloaded safari but the problem with safari is That even though its my default browser Fixya still picks IE7.

    OS Version: Windows XP Prof. 2002 SP2.

    I already have .net framework 3.5, and yes I don't get any errors whatsoever....

    I need to know the browser(along with version) and OS that you are using. Please provide this info and hopefully we can get it fixed.

There.. thats the problem. I was having issues with IE too. Download and install mozilla firefox 3. Before you install it remove the expert utility, then install firefox and install the expert utility again. All your chats will open in FF from then on and you should have no problems.

    Well that was the easy way out. When I had this problem I have traced this error to a missing library in the fixya utility. The error message was pretty huge. I have posted the message on MS technet forums and no one seems to have a clue about it. Apparently its a new issue , probably some kind of compatibility stuff. Try upgrading to .Net framework 3.5 and see if it fixes the issue.

How to earn/get money on/from fixya

In order to earn money on FixYa, you must become a Premium Expert. For information on how to apply, please view this Tip.

Once you have been approved as a Premium Expert, you will notice some changes on your My Expertisepage. First, there will be a banner regarding your preferred method of payment. Click on this banner and select how you would like to be paid. There will also be a module on the upper right of your My Expertise page called My Live Chat Status, as well as a link to your Account Statements.

Answering Chats
If you would like to do a Live Chat, where you assist the customer using an IM system, check the "Available" option on your My Live Chat Status module. Then, as long as you are on FixYa, you will receive a pop up to alert you to any available Chats in your Areas of Expertise. Please make sure you have enough time to do a Chat (up to an hour or more) and that you only assist one customer at a time.

Answering Premium Questions
Premiums can be found at the top of your My Expertise page with buttons marked $3, $4, and $6. Please view this Tip to see more info about Premiums.

Keeping track of your earnings

If your Premium Solution or Live Chat Assistance is "Accepted" by the customer, you will be credited the amount on the button (for Premiums) or between $6-$10 (for Live Chats). What is your charge for tech help?

There are four Categories:
1. Free Assistance : Free (response time not applicable) 2. Premium Assistant: $9.99, (immediate response) 3. Premium Live Chat Support; $19.99 (instant response) 4. Premium Phone Support : $29.99. (instant response)
You'll be charge per solution, you will be able to get as many instructions as you want, or until you are satisfied with the solutions provided. Suppose if you are not satisfied with the first expert's solution you can look for another experts until your problem is solved and fixed.

Chat issue

Hi Sorose4u, I'm sorry, but we currently do not have any system like that. It is, however, a great suggestion and something that I will propose to my bosses. I think that in the meantime, there is no need to wait as long as you have been. Premium chatissue

Hey again,

no, we don't get any notification of it, most of the time I also miss out on those.

not much we can do about it..You can look on the account statements page and see if the chat session is rejected by customer, then he has had another chat session.

I think they are working on improving the system, right now, we have to live with it.

Have tried a chat session with "classyexpert" re: Yamaha RX-V663 a/v reciever a number of hours ago. Session was terminated due power failure other end. Was invited to wait for further assistance but...

Have seen a lot of similar issues here at the site and on the field.

I have posted in your original problem, excerpt below:
Initially, a workaround:
  • as you posted, audio out of the DVD goes to the receiver;
  • HDMI out of the DVD goes to the Schaub Lorenz LCD.
Even if it were a compatibility issue or HDMI processor issue on the receiver, the above should get you going.

Then the non functional HDMI could be attended to at your convenience. Technically, it would appear to the the HDMI signal processor of the receiver.
