Question about Whirlpool MH7130XE Microwave Oven
When turning on the Light using the control panel button, heard a pop and now lights will not turn off on my model #MH7130XE. I think it shorted the high/low liight switch on the control board. I was told by Whirlpool that the switch part number is #4158940. My question is: Can the shorted componet be replaced on the control board easily and is there a source of instructions for doing so? I have a source for the part if that is the correct one and any information you can give me will be greatly appreciated. Thank you
Whirlpool told you wrong. Part number is #4158940
is a door switch, but that's not the problem.
They'll sell you parts or refer you to a local servicer, but they won't help you repair your unit.
On this particular model, the solid state relay PH1 near the bottom right corner of the board will be the culprit.
