I'm working on rca dlp ,bought a new lamp installed and I got volume sound ,channel change good andpower supply light green light on board fan are running . tv start by blink on and off then suddenly when off
Odd problem alright. So you have to hold in the power button for the remote to work, and the power button won't turn the TV on by itself? Or am I misunderstanding.
It sounds like the power switch relay is bad... and the board the receives messages from the remote is perhaps on the same circuit. The switch will need to be replaced.
I wasn't able to locate parts online for this. RCA has a link to parts, but all they have is a replacement lamp. However, there is a service center locater link on RCA's page.
Most places should be willing to sell you the parts you need, or get you in contact with those who do sell them. Or, you could just take it to them to be fixed.
Did you hear friction sound from behind unit?, if you hear it, change the color wheel.
Did lamp light before switched off?
and which indicator led in front side are blingking (Lamp ,Temp or fan).
If Lamp, chech the lamp.
If Temp, its mean hight temperature detected . check fan on engine, is it rotate smoothly or not, change that fan if necessary.
If Fan, its mean fan not working.
I had this problem on My RCA tv, what I found was a couple of bad green capacitors in power suply there are around three of them I just replaced 2 of them if I am not mistaken one of them is C120 but if not change all three this are the value of the ones I replaced 2200uf 16v and 220uf 35v, if you see on top of the green capacitors you will notice they are bad.
My tv is working for more than a months and I had the same problem as you are having.
This sounds like the IHVT (flyback) is arching and or going bad or the horizontal frequency is changing. you may have to remove the back of the TV and tell me if you see any arching from the flyback. I would not suggest that you attempt to repair this since the high voltages section have voltages that can kill.
