Question about Sony 8-Device Universal Learning Remote

1 Answer

I have Sony Universal remote that I cann't sync or learn commands

I have a DirecTV Receiver model: Samsung SIR-S310W DirecTV Receiver
I bought a sony universal remote and you cant tell what models will be compatible b/c the leaflet is on the inside. I found out Sony Universal Remote model # RM-VL600 is not working with my Samsung directv reciever SIR-S310W DirecTV receiver. Does anyone know another way to get these to work. the Sony will work the TV and the DVD, but not my SATELLITE Receiver. I tried the learning command with my old universal remote. the sony will only learn to Power OFF and Power ON and it will bring up the menu and that's it. I cannot return this remote as the Circuit city is going out of business.. any short-cuts or suggestions PLEASE!

I had tried that when I called sony, but it didn't help. I tried it again b/c you suggested it. It seems sony doesn't recognize Samsung Satellite receivers.

    Thanks for trying!

Won't control Sony da4400es receiver

Hi. If your remote is not able to control any of your devices, you can take advantage of its learning capabilities. The Harmony One remote is able to learn commands from your original device remote, so that it can properly mimic the remote.
To learn commands, log in to your software account and click on the "Devices" tab. Next to the icon for your receiver, click "Learn IR." This will take you to a page with all of the receiver's commands, which you can learn one by one by selecting them and clicking "Learn."
Hope this helps.

Usually in most cases the tv remote will run the dish receiver properly. Try getting your dish receiver remote to work the tv, by typing codes for that model number of the remote.

No universal remote works with my rca tv model l40fhd41

I helped a friend choose this TV at WalMart. Since I know of the remote issues with Directv, etc., I recommended that he get the Philips 6 in 1 Learning remote for $20. The learning part is the key. I believe it is so new that all stores may not have it yet. It is not on the web site. I have used the Philips learning remotes with 100% success. Give it a try, you can always return the remote (but I believe it will work).
