Any help on this would be great. Thanks again.

I will try that first and if not I am going to try and fix this myself. It has become the second TV in the house, which I will use primarily for video games.

Are there kits that I can buy for replacment parts?

    Thanks again

    No, sorry no "kits".

Repairing logical circuitboards takes many years to master.

If you open up the TV, and can see ovious signs of damage - chances are the "visual" damage is not all that has ocurred.

FET Relays all look good to the naked eye, but can only be tested with specialized equipment - unless you de-solder it from the board to test it.

Im confident the convergence set will solve your problem - the 3 lamps are not aligned. The problem being - is it even POSSIBLE to set because of different board related problems?

Only you will be able to troubleshoot, and determine if the repair is beyond your skillset.

I would guesstimate - depending on your location... That if the convergence board were the culprit - that a local tech in your area might be able to have it repaired for under $75.

Thanks again for using Fixya and the -helpful- rating you gave my answer.

There is double imaging on my samsung tv, i replaced the tcon board and it still has the double image.

does it go away when the set warms up? or if you tap the set? Sounds like a possible defective LCD panel tab. Samsungs and Sony's are known for this.

Upgraded to Hd and tv started messing up. Double images for first 10 minutes and sometimes tv picture goes off and lines up and down.

Your HDTV is capable of up to 1080P resolution. SDTV (standard def) signals are 480i; EDTV (enhanced def) is 480P; HDTV are 720P, (there is no 720i) 1080i and 1080P. Generally, those modes ending in "P" look better than those ending in "i". 1080i is the highest possible for broadcast TV, but BluRay disks and Directv have 1080P display capabilities.

The double picture you're describing sounds like the TV is set to display only standard or enhanced def signals while the Dish Network box is supplying it with HD signals. You should locate the control for the TV's resolution and make sure it is set to "1080P" and then set the output of your Dish Network set top box to the highest output it offers. Do the same for your BluRay player and any other devices, too.

Once set correctly, you should have a great picture once again. I hope this helps & good luck!

My zenith sentry tv has a double image on the words that come on screen. The people are clear but all wording has double images

Hello
Double images are technically called Ghosts, occures due to the setting and direction on the antena. You have to reorient your antena, in such a way that Ghosts disappeares from your screen. The reson for this fault is not with the TV, as it gets a direct transmission signal, and a reflected signal of the same, reflected from near or far objects, like tall buldings, hills and so on. The signals, the orginal and the reflected, will be processed by the TVs internal ciiruit, and the first will appear as strong picture, followed by the second, a weak picture, will be seemed as an image of the first one, just on the right side [view point] of your TV.
You just adjust the position and height of your antena, looking the picture, where there is minimum Ghost level is. No other repair should be done to your TV, as it is perfect, and you just give it only direct signal path. OK.

Double picture

Can you give more details? What do you mean by Double picture? Do you have 2 pictures side by side or One on top of another? Or is it like a shadow behind the main Image? If it is a shadow (Ghosting), check your Antenna - connection, direction, etc.
