Re: changing mtu settings
From a wired or wirelessly connected device do the following:- 1. Click start --> (sometimes settings) --> Control Panel --> Network Connections 2. Double click on the active connection which will say connected underneath 3. Click Support 4. Click Details 5. Now the Default Gateway value is the IP Address of your modem/router usually 192.168.0.1, 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.1.254 6. Note this value down 7. Click OK 8. Click OK or Close
9. Now open Internet Explorer 10. Enter http:// followed by your gateway address noted in 6. above e.g. http://192.168.0.1 11. You will now have to enter a username and password If the box has the username and password completed, then click OK If there is no value for username try "admin" and for the password try one of the following "password", "admin", Also try nothing for the username and "admin" for the password Sometimes the value for these are written on the underneath of the router
On the left look for the WAN or WAN Setup in there should be a vlaue for the MTU overtype in your new value and click "Save" or "Apply"

Open the Command Prompt from the Accessories folder from all programs. Type "ipconfig" and hit enter. Note the Default Gateway ip setting - xxx.xxx.x.xxx. Enter this value in the URL address field of your browser and hit enter. This will open your modems settings page - read and select the page you need to change your values - such as the wireless power adjustment. There are some sections that will require a password to change - you or your ISP should know the password.
you will need to change some setting on the router. reduce the MTU.if the MTU settings on the router is 1500 then change 1365 also you will need to open some ports on the router. Click Here for more info
If you cannot connect to the router through 192.168.0.1, do a harware reset - I think there is a button in bach and use the factory default user/password. Then just disable the wireless in setup, advanced, wirless settigs - click Wireless Off radio button. And change the password.
MTU of 1500 is the standard TCP/IP message length. Only MS Vista allows that to be changed dynamically. If your ISP uses 1500 then you need to use it too. Your Xbox protocol may be blocked by your ISP. You may want to give them a ring...
