or a browse button where you can select different pictures this may vary depending on your operating system

also you can change the settings for more or less pixels or from the drop down list pick the appropriate level of color range or troubleshoot also select advanced then general dpi normal size,larger size or custom settings
always click APPLY after making any changes

Click Window Color and Appearance.

According to the HP website, the unit shows as having an HP Pavillion Webcam. I found XP drivers for the HP Pavillion Webcam, but I'm not sure if it works with the Compaq. Try it and see.

Right click on speaker icon in System Tray Select "Playback Devices" The speaker icon ( checked as working) and volume level graph should be visible Right click on the volume graph and click "Test" Left hand speakers followed by right hand should be heard

SET MIC DEFAULT & TEST

Click "Recording" tab. Set required mic as default - click on mic font to highlight and click "Properties" In lower dropbox display "Use this device enable" click OK Click "Levels" tab and set slider to 80% ( adjust to suit later) Return to "Recording". Test mic by speaking and make sure volume graph displays
Re-start Computer.

CONFIGURE TO MSN

Re-boot the webcam by unplugging and plugging it back in again - Its always good practice to do this before you open MSN. If you have been using your webcam in another program, it can remain hooked up to the old program and you will get an error message " Unable to find webcam or being used elsewhere"

Click ( > ) Open Menu >Tools > Audio & Video set-up > Set mic as default and run through audio set-up > Next > set webcam as default and adjust Webcam Settings > Finish

Take the monitor back, it's failing.

You cannot access camera source until the webcam is running in Messenger - try setting it up from scratch
1) The webcam is working outside of Messenger
2) Reboot webcam by unplugging the USB connection and inserting it again - its important if its been used elsewhere and prior to chat.

Once you have your webcam working outside of Yahoo Messenger you have to configure it to messenger CONNECTION
Open messenger - on top toolbar > messenger > preferences > connection - select 'no proxies' or 'connect direct to the internet' depending on the version of messenger you have
make sure your internet connection and country are correct in the 2 lower boxes > apply > ok TESTING
> messenger > my webcam - warning panel will come on click 'ok' and your webcam will launch. DEFAULT
With webcam still running > Messenger > Preferences > Webcam > Camera Source - set your webcam as default using dropbox. > Camera Settings - adjust settings to suit. > Apply > OK PERMISSION OPTIONS

IN USE Your contacts may need to configure their connection the same as above or they may also get a "webcam not connected" message
