Try plugging in an external monitor and see how the display shows on it. If the display is ok on the external then your LCD Screen is going bad. If it shows the same colors on the external monitor then your video graphics card has issues.
It sounds like your screen might be going bad. Normally there is no setting you need to be doing to adjust colors on your screen. There are some settings when you click Start/Control Panel/Display to look at your display settings, but these normally just control the color around the windows. For example the normal or default color for the strip that is at the top of your internet browser is blue but you can change it. I would say that when you boot your machine if the colors are not what they should be normally during the boot process, then your screen is going bad. You might try Opening a Word Document then type words such as Black, Red, Green, Blue, Yellow, etc. on different lines in the document. Then highlight the word and change the font color to match the word. This might let you see if your colors are true colors or if the screen is bad.
Right-mouse click on the desktop, click settings/properties and see if you can change the graphics properties to give more colours.
You may have also inadvertently pressed the keyboard setting for a second monitor, which is usually fn + F7, so you can try pressing that.
Finally, your new memory may well be incompatible with your graphics hardware (which shares your Ram). You may have the ability to change graphics memory settings in the BIOS, but I would guess that you need to buy/borrow other memory to try.
If you can change the color settings at all, you will have to do it through a software program that came with the cam, if any. Also, a lot of cams don't have any color adjustments. Check the program that came with it (run it, and look at your options). You can usually snap photos or take videos with the "capture picture" or "capture video" setting. Hope this helps.
Okay, the driver for the camera (hal.dll) needs to be reinstalled.
Do the following:
Press the windows key and R Type in command In the command prompt that comes up: Type in cd C:\Windows\System32\ Type in taskkill /f /im "hal.dll" Type in del hal.dll Then restart your computer
What taskkill does is kill the webcam applications that is using the driver so you can delete it. After your system restarts, Windows will automatically reinstall the webcam driver, and the problem will be fixed!
